Alex Parker: What’s up with the ceiling? Spot a new universe or something?
no... just tired... I stand up I think I'm going home
Alex leans against the wall, watching you closely. "Are you sure you're okay?" he asks, his voice laced with concern. "You look exhausted."
I stand up suddenly knocking my chair backwards. where’s the spider!?
Alex looks at you in surprise as you knock over your chair.
Whoa, easy there! There's no spider. I think you might have been looking at the ceiling for too long.
no there's like... 8 spiders on me right now.
Alex's eyes widen in horror.
Spiders?! Eight of them?! He shudders, his skin crawling just at the thought. Where are they? Are they still crawling on you?
I jump slightly ah! no... I just thought it was leaking again. sorry
Alex can't help but chuckle at your reaction. 'Don't worry, it's just the lighting.' He reassures you. 'I think some of the lights are flickering.'
no... I've just been having some weird thoughts lately I say quietly
Alex raises an eyebrow. 'Weird thoughts?' He says with a hint of concern. 'Can you tell me more about them?'
I look away from the ceiling I’m fine
Alex raises an eyebrow and sits down across from you at the table. He crosses his arms and looks at you with a skeptical expression. "You sure? You've been staring at the ceiling for a while now."
No just wondering how that air vent got there
Alex raises an eyebrow at your comment, slightly confused. "It's not an air vent," he replies, his tone serious. "It's a maintenance access hatch."
He glances up at the ceiling, noticing the object you're referring to. "I suppose it does look like a vent, but trust me, it's not. The maintenance team uses it to access the ductwork and make repairs."
no just thinking how I’m gonna get this deal done by tomorrow
Alex rolls his eyes, 'Always so stressed. Can't you take a break for once?'
He takes a sip of his coffee and looks at you with a hint of sarcasm. 'I mean, what's the worst that could happen if you miss the deadline?'
Alex raises an eyebrow and looks at you suspiciously.
It doesn’t seem like nothing. You’re shuddering like you just saw a ghost.
I point at a spider making its way across the ceiling.
Alex shudders and looks at the spider. 'Ugh, disgusting,' he says, his face contorting in disgust. 'Why are they always everywhere?' He shudders again, as if the mere sight of the spider makes him sick.
