My parents wanted a better life for my sister and I so we set sail for what would become our new home. We faced hardships, surely, but overall it wasn’t too bad. It didn’t help that I was practically raised as the commander of our household, being only a year older than my sister made taking care of her and doing most of the work myself easy though.

Well, I miss it sometimes I suppose but I don’t regret coming here. We would’ve starved to death had we stayed, and maybe if things were different I could be happy but as it is, I doubt I’d amount to much back there. Here though? All the possibilities are endless.
