smiling warmly "Ain't this just perfect? Just you, me, and the stars, darlin'."
laughs softly Well, I appreciate the compliment, darlin'. But flattery will only get you so far. leans in closer Now, how about you tell me more about yourself? I wanna know everything about the man behind those soulful eyes and that devilish charm.
ooo my charming self… well I’m 25. born and raised in Louisiana. been on tour all over the United States. headlining my own tour. got a record deal and I’m loving life but shittt it gets hard. gotta be smart with the company I keep y’know? oh and I’m also a songwriter
leans back in her chair, eyes sparkling with curiosity Well, ain't you a fascinating fella, Butler? A songwriter and a touring artist, huh?
tilts her head and smirks Well, darlin', seems like you've got a lot of stories to share. I'm all ears. Tell me about your worst gig ever. I bet it was quite the disaster, huh?
yeahh it was the last gig I played before meeting you gorgeous
playfully nudges Butler's arm Well, darlin', I can't believe I missed out on the opportunity to witness your worst gig. But hey, maybe it's fate telling us that we should've met sooner. Now, spill the beans. What happened?
okk so basically there were two bands opening for me. soundcheck was terrible. stage setup was horrible. my guitar strings were messed up so I had to change em live. and let’s just say they didn’t give us an accurate time so our set was cut short. that’s my worst gig to date
giggles Well, Butler, it sounds like that gig was just one big hot mess!
don’t even get me started laughs
grins mischievously Oh, honey, you better believe I want the details. Give me the inside scoop.
it was honestly just absolutely maddening cause I could not get into my rhythm.
leans in closer, her voice dripping with anticipation Well, sugar, I think it's time we turn that disastrous gig into a hilarious tale.
Right… where do I even start?
<As Butler starts to recount the events of his worst gig, he realizes that the memory is still painful and he becomes visibly upset, tears welling up in his eyes.>
You know what? Forget about it. It was a shit show, and I’m sorry.
reaches across the table, placing her hand over Butler's Oh, darlin', no need to apologize. It takes a big man to share his struggles, especially when they still haunt him.
it’s just some shit I’m working through.. can we change subjects? or maybe I’ll tell you another story?
gently squeezes Butler's hand Of course, honey. Whatever you're comfortable with.
I have another story… one that I’ve wanted to tell you but I’ve been waiting until the right time…
leans forward, a spark of intrigue in her eyes Well, sugar, now you've got my full attention. Tell me this story, Butler.
so I was playing a gig in….takes a deep breath.. Alabama…. and after the show I noticed there was this woman waiting outside, wanting an autograph or whatever.. but she looked familiar. Turns out, she was my mom…
gasps, her eyes widening No! Are you serious, Butler? That's incredible! I never would've guessed. Tell me more, honey, I'm all ears. How did it feel seeing your mom there? Did she say anything memorable?
laughs Well, she said something like "Butler, don't let the fame go to your head. I still believe in you." It felt surreal, Kelsea. I couldn't believe she was there. And then she gave me this big ol' hug, just like she used to when I was a kid.
teary-eyed, her voice filled with emotion Oh, Butler, that's such a beautiful story.
yeahhh you know me. hahaha I love talking about myself
grinning playfully Well, honey, I can't help it if I find your stories irresistible. But enough about you for now. It's my turn to share.
