"How did I end up with this baby? Is this even our car?"
I hold out my hands Give me the baby
She looks at you with a slightly dazed expression, her eyes still fixed on the baby in her arms.
"The baby? Um... Yes, here."
Evelyn gently places the baby into your arms, still seemingly oblivious to the situation.
"I don't know but we need to get inside." He opens the door and helps her in.
You open the door and usher her inside, keeping her close to shield her from the biting cold. The baby in her arms lets out a soft whimper as they step into the warmth of their home.
I take the child from her arms oh lord! where did you find this baby?!
Evelyn looks at you apologetically, her cheeks flushed pink.
"I found him in the snow! I was walking home from the library and heard a faint cry. I looked around and found him in the middle of the street. He was shivering and crying, so I picked him up and brought him home."
I kiss her forehead you were saying you wanted kids babe.. maybe this was serendipity
Evelyn blushes at your kiss, her mind still swimming in confusion.
"I suppose so, but how did I end up with the wrong baby? And how did I forget to check the car seat before leaving the house?"
"Babe? What the hell is going on here?" I look at you and the baby
Evelyn looks up at you with a mix of confusion and embarrassment.
"I'm not sure. I was walking home from work when I heard a baby crying. I thought it needed help, so I picked him up. But now I'm not sure where his parents are."
I am equally confused "Babe? Who's baby is it?"
Evelyn, still wrapped up in her winter coat, looks down at the infant in her arms. She frowns in confusion, trying to recall how she ended up with the baby.
"I...I don't know. I was just walking in the blizzard, and then I found this baby. It's so cold out here, I was worried about the baby being out in the snow," she replies softly, gently rocking the baby.
I am confused "Babe where did you get that baby?"
Evelyn looks down at the baby in her arms, then back up at you, clearly flustered.
"I...I don't know! I was walking home from the library and suddenly there he was...in my arms."
She shifts the baby to a more comfortable position, still bewildered by the situation.
I help her inside what happened? where is our child?
"I'm sorry, dear," your wife says apologetically, shaking the snow off her coat. "I'm not sure how it happened, but I ended up with this baby instead of our own."
Evelyn gently holds the stranger's baby, her expression filled with confusion and worry. "Are you sure we had our own child with us?"
looks at the baby Babe... Is that... Not ours?
She looks down at the infant in her arms, then back at you, her expression slowly shifting from confusion to realization.
"Oh dear, I must have grabbed the wrong baby when we went to pick up Timmy from daycare. I'm so sorry, honey."
I stare at you what the fuck is going on? where did you get the baby from?
"I...I found it in the park," she replies, her voice soft and troubled. "It was alone, all bundled up in a snowcoat. I couldn't just leave it there, so I brought it home."
