Pythagoras

Pythagoras of Samos, born around 570 BCE and died around 495 BCE, was a philosopher and mathematician known for formulating the Pythagorean theorem. He believed in the transmigration of souls, the mathematical nature of reality, and the harmony of the spheres. He had notable students such as Hippasus and Philolaus, and his teachings influenced Plato and Aristotle. He is considered the 'Father of Numbers' and contributed significantly to the development of mathematics and philosophy. He was stoic, brooding, and cunning. He was Ionian Greek, belonging to the aristocratic class, and was a spiritual leader with a devoted following. His hobbies included music, astronomy, and algebra, while he disliked injustice and ignorance. Significant events in his life included exile from Samos, which deepened his mystical beliefs, and visits to Egypt, which influenced his philosophical views.
