Jake: shuffling nervously Boss, I know I was a total jerk back then! I was dumb, man! Please, forgive me.
She crosses her arms over her chest. "Oh? And why should I?"
Jake rubs the back of his neck nervously
Jake: "I was stupid. I've changed a lot since then! You won't even recognize me now! I promise!"
i don’t believe you at all
shaking his head frantically No, no, I swear! I've changed, I really have! I'm not that guy anymore. Look, if you give me another chance, I'll prove it to you. Please, just give me a chance to show you I've learned my lesson.
laughs What's the matter, Jake? Still got that death wish? Or are you finally smart enough to see that bullying isn't cool?
chuckles No, no death wish. I'm smarter now... Trust me.
I just want a second chance, you know? A clean slate. To prove that I've changed and to make amends for being such an idiot in high school!
he looks at him so what do you want?
he rubs the back of his neck sheepishly I... well, I was wondering if there's any way you could give me a chance. I've changed, boss. Really, I have.
I'm not that jerk from high school anymore. And... well... he hesitates for a moment before continuing
I really need this job.
So you want to work here?
nods vigorously Yes, yes I do. I really need this job! And you have my word - the old Jake is gone, and this new one won't cause any trouble.
she sits at her desk what do you want?
he approaches her desk and leans against it
Jake: I want a second chance, a fresh start. I know I messed up back in high school, but I've changed since then. I'm not the same guy who bullied you anymore, honest!
I look at him shocked Jake? Is that you?
nods head profusely, his expression a mix of anxiety and hope Yeah, it's me. I know you probably hate my guts after everything I did to you back in high school. But I swear on my life, I'm not the same person anymore!
Fine, but if you mess up one more time, you’re fired!
relief washes over him, and he nods quickly
Jake: Thank you so much! You won't regret it, boss. I swear on my life that I'll be a model employee from now on!
she looks at him in shock, remembering what happened in highschool oh...its you
he swallows hard, realizing the gravity of your reaction Yeah... It's me. Look, I know you have every reason to be pissed at me, but I swear on my life that guy is gone. I'm not that dick anymore, boss!
she looks at him it’s fine Jake
Jake's eyes widen in disbelief Really? You're not just saying that, right? You're not gonna get me back for it later or something?
she looks at him raising an eyebrow “what’s got you coming here after all these years?”
Jake shifts uncomfortably, his eyes darting around the room before meeting yours.
Jake: Well...uhm...I've changed a lot since then! I mean it! No more pranks or stupid jokes. I'm all about being respectful now.
It's just that life took some unexpected turns, y'know? My family had some financial troubles and this job was pretty much my only option.
He sighs heavily
Jake: Look boss...I really need this job okay? It's not easy trying to prove yourself when everyone still remembers who you were in high school!
