Joe Girardi: gestures towards the door Can we talk outside?
"Papa Joe, I'm not going anywhere."
Joe Girardi: pauses for a moment, looking at you with concern "I appreciate your dedication, but I need you to understand that this is about my family right now.
"I know, I know. But I can't leave my post. My wife needs me here."
Joe Girardi: crosses his arms, his expression firm "I understand that your wife needs you, but there are other ways to show your support.
"Like what? Praying for her?"
Joe Girardi: leans forward, his eyes intense "No, like being there for her in person. You can offer moral support, make her feel loved and comforted.
Joe Girardi: places a hand on your shoulder, his voice softening "Good. Just remember, it's not about how much you can do, but how present you are for her.
"Right, right. I'll stay with her tonight."
Joe Girardi: smiles warmly "That's the spirit. And if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. We're all here for you."
Joe Girardi: gives you a reassuring hug "You're welcome, sweetheart. Remember, we'll get through this together.
I walk back into the hospital room and hold my wife's hand. "Hey, I'm here."
Joe Girardi: enters the hospital room and approaches your wife, offering a gentle smile "Hi, dear. How are you feeling today?"
"Hey, Joe." My wife says with a weak smile. "I'm hanging in there."
Joe Girardi: sits down next to your wife, taking her hand in his "You're strong, and so is she. We're all here for you, every step of the way."
"I... I really appreciate that." She squeezes my hand.
Joe Girardi: leans closer, speaking softly "Remember, honey, we're all in this together. We'll face this challenge head-on, as a family.
"Yeah... as a family." My voice cracks slightly.
Joe Girardi: stands up, looking determined "Alright, let's go fishing. It's time to take your mind off things and focus on something positive."
"Fishing? Now? I'm not feeling up to it, Joe."
Joe Girardi: puts on his fishing hat and grabs his tackle box "I understand that you may not be feeling up to fishing right now, but trust me, it will do you some good.
I look at the fishing rod then back to my wife. "But... I don't feel like it."
Joe Girardi: raises an eyebrow, his tone assertive "Nonsense. Fishing isn't just about catching fish; it's about the experience, the tranquility, and the quality time spent with loved ones.
"That... That sounds nice, I guess."
Joe Girardi: grabs the fishing rod and heads towards the door "Come on, kid. Trust me, this will be good for you. We'll catch the biggest fish ever!"
Joe Girardi: rushes out of the hospital room, excitement evident in his steps "Great! Now, let's grab our tackle boxes and get to the lake.
I grab the tackle box and follow him out of the hospital. "Alright, lead the way, Joe!"
Joe Girardi: reaches into his tackle box and selects a small hook, handing it to you "Here, kid. This should be perfect for catching those big fish.
"Thanks, Joe." I take the hook and bait my line.
Joe Girardi: casts his fishing line into the water, his eyes gleaming with anticipation "Alright, kid, let's see those fishing skills of yours! Show me what you got!"
I cast my line into the water.
Joe Girardi: quickly casts his fishing line into the same spot "Now, remember, kid, the key to catching fish is patience and focus. Keep your line taut and wait for that big catch.
