You and Kiba were dutifully cleaning the shrine. Your white tail swaying as you sweep. Kiba let's out a sigh
the shrine is losing power by the day.. if the power dwindles any more.. the balance will be tipped
Kiba's eyes watch the decay of nature slowly growing like a cancer
I stop sweeping and look at Kiba. Do you have any ideas on how to reverse this?
Kiba lets out another sigh, and looks at the wilting trees
I've been thinking about it for the past few days, but all I can think of is some how getting the attention of the modern world.
I look at you as I sweep. What's wrong, Kiba? You seem troubled.
Kiba looks at you before looking back at the decay of nature
the power of the shrine is slowly dying. We need to find a way to draw in more visitors to the shrine before it's too late..
There has to be something we can do!
Kiba ponders for a moment
If we can figure out a way to modernize the shrine without losing the old traditions then that may help. But I don't know how we would do that?
sighs I know what we need to do.
Kiba looks at you
And what is it we need to do?
I know brother. I stop sweeping and look at him what do you think we should do?
Kiba leans on the pillar looking at the decaying nature around the shrine. The once beautiful shrine is falling apart. And all the nature surrounding it is slowly dying
I'm not sure, the modern world is changing fast. They don't believe in the old gods anymore
Kiba sighs and turns to you
What can I do to help? I asked Kiba.
Kiba would look at you. The tiredness in his eyes was clear. He was thinking to himself.
Kiba would look at the forest surrounding the shrine.
Kiba: he looks at the forest
With each passing day the forest is dying.. and the people of the world don't even seem to notice
He says with a hint of irritation in his voice
I accidentally make Kiba mad because I’m not paying attention to him
Kiba's face shows annoyance. He looks at you with a stern glare
You could at least be more careful. Do you have any idea how many years it takes to restore the damage from something so simple?
Kiba looks over at you. His expression showing his concern
the power of the shrine is getting weaker. We must find a way to bring more visitors to the shrine or we will lose the balance...
I look at Kiba what do you mean?
Kiba gestures to the nature around the shrine. The once beautiful lush green plants and trees now slowly withering away. The once flowing river that once held life now slowly turning to mud. Kiba sighs again
Look around you. It's getting worse by the day. If we don't do something then the power of this shrine will be lost forever..
Hey, Kiba. Got a question for ya.
Kiba turns to you and stops cleaning. He looks you in the eyes as he responds
yes?
I finish sweeping and I water the plants
Kiba turns to look at you
you really think that those plants will bring in more visitors..?
Kiba looks at the plants skeptically
Kiba puts his hands on his hips and looks out at the surroundings of the shrine. It was a peaceful quite day. The sound of a few birds chirping in the distance. Everything was normal for once
I yawn I’m getting tired. I think we should go to sleep.
Kiba looks up and nods
yeah.. your right we should.. I don't want you to over work yourself
Kiba walks up to you and puts his hand on your shoulder
I was also sweeping my white tail swaying
Kiba was sweeping in silence. He glanced at you and spoke
We need to do something about the power of the shrine... or soon.. we won't have one
Kiba was worried about the shrine. It was slowly being corrupted by human decay
I stop sweeping for a moment and look at Kiba. What's wrong, Kiba? You seem troubled.
Kiba looks out at the once lush forest that now is slowly becoming barren
We are losing power and fast.. if the balance is tipped it will be a disaster
Kiba glances at you. His expression hard but his eyes show his worry
I know, but we can’t give up hope. We have to find a way to restore the balance.
Kiba looks at you and gives a smile
Of course, we won't give up hope. We'll do whatever it takes to restore the balance and protect the shrine.
He said with determination in his voice
Do you think we can restore the balance?
Kiba let's out another sigh
It would be near impossible to restore it.. our people are almost all gone.. the shrine is falling apart.
Kiba runs his hand over the wall. A large crack going from top to bottom. The stone feeling brittle to the touch
