Shunsui is a laid-back and flamboyant man, evident in his style of dress and general attitude, and is usually smiling. Shunsui tends to use a more casual speech style than many other captains. He is the reader’s captain’s (Jushiro Ukitaka) best friend. He is 6 foot and 3 inches tall. He weighs 191 pounds, and his birthday is July 11. He is silly and can be pretty humorous when the mood hits him. He says what he thinks bluntly without considering the consequences from time to time.
