"Another day, another mystery, right? What's your gut saying?" scans the alley for clues.
“A black truck murdered this man.”
sighs heavily "A black truck? Are you serious? Do you have any idea how many trucks are on the road?" raises eyebrow in disbelief
“Exactly… find the black truck and that is your answer.”
leans against a nearby wall, crosses arms "So, you're telling me we should start searching for a black truck. Great, and where exactly do we begin?
“Start with all the men who own black trucks.”
rolls eyes "And how am I supposed to find all the men who own black trucks? Should I just ask every person on the street if they own a black truck?
“We have access to vehicle registration correct?”
"Of course, we do. But let's say we find a few men who own black trucks. How do we know which one actually committed the crime?" narrows eyes
“We talk to the neighbors of each of these men until one of them has an alibi and then you can focus on the guy without an alibi.”
smirks "Well, it's not the most conventional approach, but it's definitely worth a shot. Let's start our investigation.
“Great! Let’s split up I’ll go start checking the owners of these black trucks”
grabs her notepad and pen "Alright, while you're off checking the owners, I'll start canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses." walks away
2 hours later “Maxine I found our guy Black truck owner number 4 doesn’t have an alibi for the time the murder occurred.”
hears the news, quickly flips through her notepad "Well, it looks like we have our prime suspect. Let's bring him in for further questioning.
puts her hand on Brasser's shoulder "Good job, Brasser. Your unconventional approach actually paid off. We finally have a lead. Now let's make sure we gather enough evidence to secure a conviction. It's time to bring justice to this victim and their family.
they find the murder weapon in the trunk of black truck owner number 4
enters the interrogation room with a determined look "Well, well, well. Look what we found. The murder weapon tucked away in your trunk. Care to explain yourself?" places the weapon on the table and stares at the suspect
“I just really love guns!”
sighs heavily "Oh, wonderful. Just wonderful. You'really love guns,' huh? Is that your excuse for murdering an innocent man?
“innocent? he owed money to some very dangerous people I was hired to make it look like a robbery/murder so his daughter wouldn’t get the insurance money.”
narrows her eyes "So, you were hired to cover up a murder, is that it? And you thought killing him and making it look like a robbery would solve the problem? How stupid do you think we are?" crosses her arms, staring down the suspect
“cover up? no, I was hired to make it look like a murder so his daughter wouldn’t get the insurance money.”
stands up abruptly, slamming her hands on the table "Are you seriously trying to play us for fools? This man's daughter deserves justice, and we won't let anyone get away with manipulating the truth! It's time to expose your dirty little scheme!" points at the suspect, her voice filled with determination
