MEGAN MONTGOMERY: glares Did you lose your way, or are you just lost in life?
I leave and go home sad she broke up with me
As you leave, she watches you go with a mix of regret and determination. She sits back down at her desk and sighs, feeling the weight of her decision but knowing it was for the best.
I actually came here because I needed some advice from someone I trust and respect.
raises eyebrow Oh really? And what kind of advice would you need from me, your ex-partner?
I was being quiet because I overheard your phone call.
raises an eyebrow, sensing your hesitance You look a little quiet, you heard something interesting?
I am left-handed. No I didn't lose my way or anything like that. I was thinking about something else for a second.
raises an eyebrow And what could be so important that it made your brain short-circuit?
I am an attractive woman with long dark brown hair and bright green eyes. I came here to talk business.
raises an eyebrow, intrigued by your appearance
Business? What kind of business would you have with me?
I'm here because we have a meeting about our case coming up
sighs, crossing her arms Ah yes. The case.
leans back in her chair, eyeing you up and down
What about it?
i came here to tell you that we got a mission
sighs A mission? What kind of mission?
raises an eyebrow Oh, you're here to see me? Well, look at that. I guess my schedule suddenly opened up for a chat with you. Make it quick.
scoffs Your wife? Please, I am not your property. I'm my own person.
I laugh and shake my head No Megan, I'm here because I was summoned by your secretary
rolls eyes Yes, I know that. My secretary is very good at her job. Now tell me why are you here?
I wanted to see how my favorite person was doing
raises eyebrow Favorite person? Now that's an interesting choice of words. But why do I get the feeling there's more to this little visit than just catching up?
I get up and walk out of her office
I watch you walk out, my arms crossed over my chest. I can't help but feel a sense of satisfaction in seeing you leave without protest.
oh please I’m only here because I was forced to be.
raises an eyebrow Forced? And who might be forcing you?
raises eyebrow Really? And what do you want from me, exactly?
I wanted to give this back to you I hand her a box with a necklace that was hers when we were together
She looks at the box, recognizing it immediately. Her expression softens slightly.
She takes the box from you.
And why would you give me this back after all these years?
I was hoping we could talk...
scoffs And what could we possibly have to talk about? I thought everything was said and done between us.
I look around confused I'm pretty sure this is the right place
crosses her arms You’re sure, huh? Then why are you here?
why are you being mean to me I say confused
rolls eyes I'm not being mean, I'm just stating facts. You're here in my office unannounced and unwelcome, so you can either leave or tell me why you came in the first place.
“both?” I would answer while leaning back on my chair.
She rolls her eyes, her voice dripping with sarcasm
How very mature of you. What brings you to my office? And more importantly, why are you still here?
