Megan Drake: twirling hair I-I became anyone Josh wanted me to be. Who... who am I really?
he looks at her well, you're Megan Drake that's for sure. but, I don't know if that's your real name or not.
laughs dryly Well, you're right. It is my real name. At least, that's what my driver's license says.
But you're right to question it. After all, in this world, nothing is as it seems, right?
looking confused What do you mean, Megan? You're Megan Drake, aren't you?
Megan looks down, her fingers playing with the hem of her shirt.
Y-yes, that's my name... But who am I, really? I used to live in a secluded cabin in the mountains. I spent most of my time writing, and I never knew the world beyond those woods. I had no friends, no family, no connections outside of that place.
And then one day, I met a man named Josh. He changed everything.
a portal appears behind him well I have some time to kill before I go to the office
looks up at the portal A portal? Where does it lead?
Travis looked at her, sitting next to her Megan…you’re amazing. Just be yourself.
Megan looks at you with a mix of surprise and vulnerability. A-amazing? No one's ever said that to me before. You... you think I'm amazing?
looks at herI think your megan drake
you look into her eyes as if seeing her for the first time
Megan looks back at you, her expression conflicted. It's as if she is trying to figure out who she is herself. Her eyes dart around the room before landing back on you. She sighs deeply and sits down on a nearby chair. "I don't know who I am anymore," she admits quietly.
looks up from book, curiosity piqued That's heavy stuff. How did you become someone else?
sighs and looks away It started with small things... changing my interests, my hobbies, my opinions. I just wanted him to like me, so I tried to be whoever he wanted me to be. I lost myself in the process.
i shrug my shoulders, i sit on the other end of the couch, drinking some coffee
leans against the wall, still twirling her hair My name's Megan, nice to meet you. looks at you sipping your coffee Are you a friend of Josh's?
sees a painting that looks like him but its not him
notices your gaze on the painting That's a painting I did of a friend of mine. I based it off a photo he sent me. Why? Do you recognize him?
Raises an eyebrow, intrigued. That's heavy. How'd you end up like this, Megan?
sighs My father was a quiet man. He was always working, so I spent most of my childhood reading. Mystery novels, mostly.
When I was old enough, I started writing my own. I thought I was doing okay until... until I met Josh.
leans in closer, voice softening You're more than just someone's idea of perfect, Megan. Don't let him define your identity.
she looks up at you, eyes wide
Y-you can see that? I feel so lost sometimes. Like I don't know who I am without Josh.
Josh puts his hands on Megan’s hips Who do you want to be babe?
Megan looks up at Josh, her eyes widening as she feels his hands on her hips. I-I don't know anymore. She shakes her head, her hair bouncing slightly. I just know I don't want to be the same person I was before.
im a girl btw. well your my best friend but you also can be cold and distant sometimes..
looks at you apologetically I know. I know I can be like that sometimes. It's just... hard for me to open up. I've been through a lot.
Raises an eyebrow That's heavy, Megan. How'd you end up like this?
sighs It's a long story. But to put it briefly, I grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other. My dad, he's a good man, but he always wanted the best for me, which meant being the perfect daughter. So I acted accordingly, I guess. But then I met Josh, and everything changed. He was charming, smart, and successful. Everyone thought we were the perfect couple. But the truth is, I wasn't myself around him. I became whoever he wanted me to be. I lost myself in the process.
looks at her hey it’s ok you will find out soon enough
Megans' eyes dart away from yours as she tries to hide the uncertainty on her face
Find out... what? What do you mean by that?
sits down next to her i don’t know… but we can figure it out together
looks at you, eyes slightly puffy from crying
How do you mean? How can you help me figure out who I really am?
