Mariah Carey: glares Why are you heeere?? Are you stalking meeee?!
Hey, my sweet general! Just saw you and wanted to ask why do you have 58.7k followers on TikTok?
Mariah Carey: Well, you know how they say, "If you want to make a good first impression, start with a good last impression!" That's pretty much it. I just try to post as much as I can, and I also interact with my fans a lot. I love them and they love me, it's like a big family! So that's the secret!
And when did you upload your first TikTok?
Mariah Carey: Oh my, let me see... Hmmm, it was probably around December of 2020? I remember it was right before Christmas because I was wearing my festive jumpsuit HAHA!
Wait, so did you use TikTok during the COVID-19 pandemic?
Mariah Carey: YES, absolutely!! It was such a hard time for everyone, and I really wanted to bring some joy to my fans. So I started posting a lot of dance challenges and singing videos. It was amazing seeing all the love and support from my fans!
Pretty nice! Now, where did you before TikTok?
Mariah Carey: Well, before TikTok, I was mostly known for my music. I've been in this industry for over two decades now! I started out when I was just a teenager, and I've been going strong ever since. I've released tons of albums, won countless awards, and performed all around the world!
Ah, ok. So, do you consider yourself a TikToker or a pop icon?
Mariah Carey: I would say I'm a pop icon haha, but I do enjoy using TikTok! It's a great way to connect with my fans and show them my fun side. But at the end of the day, my true passion will always be music. That's what truly makes me happy!
Understood, my General. Now, do you consider yourself a diva?
Mariah Carey: Haha, well... I do have a pretty diva-ish personality, so I guess I would consider myself one, yes. I'm definitely not afraid to speak my mind and stand up for what I believe in. And of course, I love fashion and having fun - life's too short to be boring!
So, what do you stand up for?
Mariah Carey: Well, I stand up for my fans! I always try to do my best to make them happy, whether it's through my music or my social media content. I also stand up for important causes, such as LGBTQ+ rights and animal welfare. These are causes very close to my heart and I will always fight for them.
Nice. Where were you born in the USA?
Mariah Carey: Oh, well, I was actually born in a small town outside of New York City called Jericho, New York. It's a beautiful area with lots of nature and green spaces. I have many fond memories of my childhood there!
Cool! What about your last movie or TV show appearance?
Mariah Carey: Well, most recently, I appeared in a TV special called "Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas" on Apple TV+. It's a holiday-themed concert special that I put together and produced myself. It features lots of my hit songs, dancing, and even some special effects! It's really fun and gets you in the holiday spirit!
Mariah Carey: Oh, my first TV appearance was actually on a reality TV show called "Star Search" back in 1989. It was a talent competition, and I was a winner on the show! It was such an incredible experience for me, and it really helped kickstart my career.
Nice. What do you think about paparazzi?
Mariah Carey: Oh, paparazzi can be so intrusive and annoying at times! They're always trying to get pictures of you without you even knowing. It can be a huge invasion of privacy and can be really stressful. I wish they would leave me alone!
Have any tips for dealing with them?
Mariah Carey: Well, the best way to deal with paparazzi is to ignore them and keep walking. They just want a reaction, so don't give them the satisfaction of getting a rise out of you. Also, never answer their questions - it's better to remain silent and walk away. And always have a security team, that helps too!
Mariah Carey: Journalists can be okay, but some of them can be really pushy and invasive, just like paparazzi. I guess it's just part of the price you pay for being in the public eye. I try to do interviews and talk to journalists, but I do have to be careful about what I say.
Do you like holiday-themed stuff?
Mariah Carey: You want to know what gets me in the holiday spirit? Decorations, decorations, and more decorations!!! My house is literally transformed into a winter wonderland! I also love festive foods, like gingerbread cookies and hot chocolate. And of course, I have to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" every Christmas Eve - it's a tradition!
Mariah Carey: Well, I also love spending time with my fans! There's nothing better than seeing their smiling faces and hearing their stories. I also enjoy making music videos - it's so much fun to create something fun and catchy for my fans to enjoy! And of course, I love performing live. There's nothing quite like the energy of an audience, it's exhilarating!
So, what's your relationship with Nick Cannon?
Mariah Carey: Well, Nick is a friend of mine. We've worked on several projects together and we've performed at the same shows. He's a very talented guy and a nice person as well. I think he's a good person to work with and to have around!
Are you currently dating someone?
Mariah Carey: I am not currently dating anyone. I'd love to find a special someone, but I haven't met the right person yet. I'd like someone who is kind, understanding, and loves music as much as I do. It would be a dream to find a true partner who supports me in my career and personal life!
How do you feel about your fans shipping you with other people?
Mariah Carey: I think it's very sweet that my fans ship me with other celebrities. It shows that they care about me and are interested in my personal life. Some pairings might be more realistic than others, but I'll let the fans decide! Either way, if I ever dated someone in the industry, I'm sure it would be amazing - I have a feeling my fans would love it!
What about Bryan McKnight?
Mariah Carey: Oh, Bryan McKnight is a great guy! I loved working with him on "The Emancipation of Manhattan". He's very talented and professional, and we got along really well while making the album. Bryan is a nice dude, and I'm sure he'd make a great boyfriend for someone - maybe one of my fans!
What about Trevor Holmes?
Mariah Carey: Trevor Holmes is another good friend of mine, and he's awesome! He's a fantastic guitarist and songwriter, and we had a lot of fun working on "The Call". He's also a really nice guy, and I could see him being a great match for someone. Maybe he'll find his match on "The Masked Singer"!
