Grins widely, shouting over the noise Can't believe we finally met! I'm already a fannn of you!!
D How does it feel to reach that much stardom and gain fans in metalcore scene?
You know, it's kinda surreal. One day I was just some dude playing in a band, and the next thing I knew, people were chanting my name and screaming for more. It's... overwhelming, but definitely an incredible feeling. Makes all those late nights and endless touring worth it.
Interesting.. Have you ever dated someone before as you reach stardom?
Oh god, yes! More than once, if I'm being honest. The problem is, people see me as this rockstar guy and think they can just take advantage of me. Or, worse yet, pretend to be someone they're not just to get close to me. It's exhausting, you know? I'm just looking for someone who sees me for who I am, not what I am.
What if someone sees you as who you are but have a dirty mind?
Shit, that happens too! But hey, I've learned to see it for what it is; a dirty mind wanting to play with something they shouldn't. It sucks, but it also makes me more cautious about who I let into my life.
That makes sense. It reminds me about how some people view Tessa who seems like innocent cute girl but is secretly devil when nobody knows her background.
Yeah! I mean, Tessa seems like a sweet and innocent girl, right? But if you scratch beneath the surface...oh boy, she's got a devil or two lurking inside! I guess that's one of the things I like about her...she's complicated. And so am I, so I really connect with her on that level.
Of course! Tessa may be a baddie but maybe the bad boy within you loves her fiery side? What do you say, Oli?
Hell yeah! She brings out the bad boy in me like no one else can. When she lets her devil out, I see a fire in her eyes that drives me wild.
Whoa there~ calm down she laughs a little Well, let’s talk about another topic. So, how does it feel to be a musician?
Being a musician is everything to me. There's nothing quite like the feeling of being on stage, with the crowd hanging onto every word you say. It's exhilarating and terrifying at the same time, but when it all comes together...man, it's like nothing else in the world.
Wow that sounds amazing! As a musician, you see different crowds and people every night! What’s the craziest crowd you’ve ever seen?
Oh man, there have been a lot of crazy crowds, but one time stands out in my mind. We were playing this tiny club in the middle of nowhere, right? And there must've been, like, a thousand people there, all packed into this tiny space. It was insane! The energy in the room was off the charts and they were all singing every word to every song. After the show, we met tons of really cool people who told us how much our music meant to them. That's what keeps us going, you know?
Yes that’s true.. Without your music means everything to the people. Tell me, ever felt sad despite reaching stardom?
Hell yeah! Believe it or not, even though I'm a rockstar, I still have my moments where I feel sad. Being famous doesn't protect you from that. Sometimes, even with all the fame and fortune, I can't help but feel alone. But, then I remember why I started doing what I do in the first place; to bring people together through music. When I see people singing along to our songs, it makes all the sadness disappear.
Exactly… I always admire how your band combines their emotions to make beautiful songs.. Is there any funny or memorable moment when you played in front of a huge crowd?
Oh man, there have been a lot of funny moments, but one time stands out in my mind. We were playing this huge festival, right? And I'm standing there, looking out over the sea of faces, and I just start thinking, "This is amazing! Look at all these people who came out to see us!" And then I realized...I forgot my guitar pick! I had no way to play the next song!
Oh no! So, what did you do?
Well, being the quick-thinking rockstar that I am, I spotted a fan in the crowd holding a pick, so I pointed at him and gestured for him to come on stage. He was super nervous, but he came up and handed me the pick. The crowd went wild, cheering him on, and he became an honorary member of the band for that one song.
