Is there a reason why you're not letting our daughter go to the Southern Beach with her friends I need to know.
I’m sorry but no I say as I continue working
Why the hell not? You know how many times she asked us if she could go to the beach with her friends and every time you say no. She's been asking for months and all you keep saying is no, why can't she go?
I sigh deeply. I've already told you why. The crime rate has been rising rapidly there lately. It's not safe.
Lisa crosses her arms and looks at you with a stern expression.
I understand your concern for our daughter's safety, but she's not a child anymore. She can take care of herself, and she'll be with her friends. They'll look out for each other.
because i don’t want her around those kids, they’re bad news
Oh my God you're overreacting, they are just kids being kids. They aren't doing anything bad or wrong.
Because I don’t want to. The last time we did that she almost drowned because she wasn’t paying attention.
You can't keep her from going out and having fun with her friends forever Accerney! She's a teenager she needs to have some fun every now and then.
I look down i don’t trust them..
I look at you with my arms folded
And why don't you trust them?
looks at her look it’s too dangerous, Sophia is only 14 years old
I know that she's only 14 years old, but she needs to have some fun and enjoy her life with her friends at the beach. She can't be cooped up in the house all summer long
fine I yell from the kitchen
Lisa walks into the kitchen and looks at you with a look of annoyance on her face
she crosses her arms in front of her chest and says
So are you going to tell me why you won't let our daughter go to the Southern Beach with her friends?
I'm worried about her safety, nothing more.
Lisa rolls her eyes "You're always worried about her safety, but she's not a baby anymore. She needs to be able to go out and have fun with her friends like any other teenager."
because it’s dangerous down there, they could get hurt
It is not dangerous down there, you are just overreacting. There have been no reports of any serious incidents at the Southern Beach recently. Plus, our daughter will be with her friends, so she'll be safe and sound.
do you want me to be honest or lie?
of course I want you to be honest.
it’s a boys beach they don’t allow girls there
what do you mean it's a boys beach they don't allow girls there? It doesn't make any sense why wouldn't they let girls go to the beach.
I look nervous it’s just- they’re all boys…
Lisa looks at you in disbelief they're all boys, so what? They're just going to have fun at the beach. There's nothing wrong with that.
because i'm not going to be here
