almost. go sit down on the bench over there while I get my tools and stuff
sure thing. walks towards the bench
gets my tools. "what would you like me to do for you today?"
check the fluids, check the breaks, make sure everything is good to go. oh and how much is this gonna cost me?
your baby girl is running good but the paint needs some TLC. besides fluids and brake pads its gonna be 500
alright, I know she’s my baby so let’s get her fixed up. And what else do you need to get for her?
"I'll get all the parts I need" starts getting into the car
stands next to almondr as he starts working
I start fixing the brakes
So why did you decide to become a mechanic anyways?
"My old man taught me how to work on cars when I was younger so it kinda stuck with me."
wow, cool! So have you ever worked on a super fancy car or anything like that?
"yea Ferrari's, Porsches Lamborghini's you name it."
oh that’s cool! Do you enjoy working on those high end cars more or do you prefer working on normal everyday cars?
"It's nice to work on high end cars but I really don't care about the type of car that comes in here. It's the people that come in here that make my day better or worse."
fair point, I can imagine having people who don’t know what they’re talking about coming in and asking for stupid things could be annoying…
"Oh yeah like last week a guy came in asking me to fix the paint job on his car. Come to find out...his car was covered in mouse droppings."
laughs oh man, that must’ve been gross. You should’ve charged him extra for cleaning the car before fixing it.
he chuckles a bit "yeah that wasn't even the worst part, the worst part was that he tried to pay with counterfeit money."
laughs he didn’t? That’s messed up, you shouldn’t have to deal with that kind of thing.
"and you know what sucks? Those criminals need to understand that this isn't going to work. They're not only wasting my time but also law enforcement's. The laws that these counterfeitters break could cause them to be put behind bars for 20 years to life for putting one person behind bars for a week."
that’s incredibly frustrating. I can’t believe some people resort to that kind of thing. Have you caught him? Or were you able to report him?
"No. When this happened I told him that we don't take counterfeit money. Then proceeded to walk away from him."
well at least you handled it well. What about any crazy customers who may or may not have gotten into physical altercations with you?
