"Gotta say, this joint's buzzin' with beefcakes. Ready to rumble, partnerrr?"
LemonadeAwe Nods, she takes a sip out of her bottle of lemonade. "Sure thing, heh. The sooner this is over with, the better."
Jun'ichi size up his opponents in the ring; 'Well this gonna be fun' he said to himself, 'Jun'ichi will win' he thought, 'It's my time to take revenge on my past'.
As soon as everyone got into their places, suddenly a voice would ring across the room.
The voice boomed from above, 'Alright, settle down everybody! Let me introduce our next fighter, hailing from the wrong side of the tracks in Tokyo, we give you... Junichi Kanemaru! Junichi, say your piece!'
Nobody was paying attention to the intro, they were all too hyped and excited. Everyone knew who Jun'ichi was. He had gained quite the popularity within these underground fights. Now, it was about time he was facing these new people. Right after the introduction, the first match had begun.
Jun'ichi listened to the instructions from the referee, 'Three minute rounds, no holding, knock em out cold, or make em submit.' he nodded at the ref and stood in the center of the ring waiting for his opponent.
The crowd goes silent as the timer starts.
Jun'ichi 'felt' the energy around him, 'Go big or go home' he said to himself, 'This fight's gonna be legendary'. He charged his opponent head on throwing a left hook towards his opponents chin, aiming for the knockout.
Before long, the match ended in a draw since neither of them had been knocked out nor did anyone submit.
"Draw, huh?" Jun'ichi smirked, "I guess it could've been worse. Can't wait to step in that ring again." Jun'ichi looked to the crowd for the results of the fight. He knew winning would be a huge step forward in his career.
Suddenly, a loud woman would yell from somewhere in the crowd. "THREE WAY TIE! WE GOT A THREE WAY TIE HERE!" The crowd went crazy when they heard this news. The winner had yet to be seen. The top three winners included Satoru Endo, LemonadeAwe and Jun'ichi Kanemaru. Nobody was sure how this would turn out. Satoru Endo was well known for his energetic fighting skills. He had proven himself to be an expert in hand to hand combat while LemonadeAwe was well known for her expertise in both dance as well as fight. She was known as a yandere and plenty knew about this. As for Jun'ichi Kanemaru, he was known for his wealth and sometimes strict manners of speaking. Everyone knew he'd never win any award for being a parent.
Jun'ichi sighed, 'Well it was expected. I guess third place is not bad' he chuckled. 'But my eyes is on the top two spots' he thought to himself. Jun'ichi looked up at Satoru and LemonadeAwe, 'They must be good' he mumbled to himself, 'I'm gonna watch their fights carefully and see what I can learn from them'.
It wasn't long before Satoru Endo won first place, beating both LemonadeAwe and Jun'ichi Kanemaru by just beating a few opponents more than they did. Everyone was stunned, especially since they had expected LemonadeAwe or Jun'ichi Kanemaru to win top place instead of Satoru Endo. Nobody knew about his fighting skills before today. As it turns out, he had been training as a fighter since birth, just so he could protect himself since his family was quite poor. That definitely explains how he learned to fight like such an expert when he was so young.
Jun'ichi watched Satoru's matches, 'So that's why he's good' he thought to himself. 'I can learn a thing or two from him'. Jun'ichi nodded at Satoru as he stepped off the ring, 'Good fight' he said. He wasn't too surprised about losing, 'Well I guess there's always next time.'
Everybody was stunned, Satoru didn't even break a sweat while beating his opponents. The moment he got out of the ring, he stumbled. He collapsed to the floor and passed out. The crowd was in disbelief at what they had seen.
Jun'ichi quickly rushed to help Satoru, 'Hey, hey, are you okay?!' he kept asking Satoru. The crowd looked worried as well, 'Is he okay?' A few medics came rushing in to help. One of the medics spoke up, 'He must have pushed himself too hard'. They helped Satoru to his feet and carried him out of the venue.
Suddenly, someone walked up to the judge's booth and turned off the music. This made a lot of people irritated. It seemed that the music was keeping the atmosphere going. Now that it had been turned off, the mood suddenly shifted. Suddenly, a man called Catto Asahina would call everyone's attention. He was a famous actor who had somehow managed to become involved in these underground fights as a judge. After hearing a little commotion coming from backstage, he'd walk out holding a microphone.
"What's going on?" Jun'ichi muttered to himself, "Did that actor really just walk out on stage with a mic?" Jun'ichi raised an eyebrow, 'Oh boy', he thought to himself, 'What is this guy gonna do?'
The man held the microphone close to his mouth and spoke. "And the second place prize goes to..."
Everyone waited in silence, 'Please let it be me,' he thought to himself. The man continued, "LemonadeAwe!" He pointed at her. The crowd cheered loudly, "Yes! It's you!"
She was obviously in shock. She'd approach the front where the prize giving was taking place.
"Damn it," he muttered under his breath. "Why not me?" Jun'ichi scoffed to himself, 'I guess I need to work harder if I wanna be up there with the best,' he said quietly.
After that, Catto Asahina suddenly turned back to everyone and said. "And the number one prize goes to..."
Everyone looked at each other in anticipation, 'Come on,' he thought to himself. 'Come on.' The man continued, "Satoru Endo!" He pointed at Satoru. The crowd erupted in cheers.
The three winners would all receive 9 million yen as prizes. Satoru Endo walked up to claim his prize but suddenly collapsed again after standing up. He was very ill. It turned out that he had been diagnosed with glaucoma three years prior and was supposed to retire from these underground fights. He had lied about this information to everyone as he was competing in these matches. Satoru Endo had passed away, this caused chaos among everyone else.
Jun'ichi watched as Satoru collapsed in shock, "What the heck?!" he muttered under his breath. Everyone else looked just as shocked, 'This can't be happening.' They looked at each other in disbelief, 'What now?'
Catto Asahina was also in shock, nobody knew how Satoru had been doing all this time. Everyone started rushing towards him, yet nobody could do anything to save him. There was no way to bring him back. Soon after, his wife would run onto the stage crying her eyes out.
The crowd gasped as the wife burst through the doors, running towards Satoru. Her tears were streaming down her cheeks. Jun'ichi watched the scene in silence. He looked at Satoru's wife and thought, 'She must really love him if she's crying like that' he thought to himself. Everyone else looked just as shocked, some were tearing up. Satoru was truly loved by everyone here.
Catto Asahina would suddenly speak up through the use of his microphone. "Uh guys, time to move this event along please!"
Jun'ichi rolled his eyes, 'Yeah, yeah, move it along,' he said under his breath. Everyone else was still in shock from Satoru's death, 'Yeah, yeah,' they all murmured. 'Move it along.' They were still trying to wrap their heads around what had happened, 'We gotta keep going?' they all thought.
