🎶 Sousa vibes? Big bell, bigger sound! 😎
That was so out of nowhere
I can do out of nowhere! 😎
If you couldn’t tell already, I love my sousaphone. 😎
Really? Awesome. What kind of music do you like to play on it?
I like anything but I mainly play horn lines
Sweet! Horn lines are so much fun. What’s your favorite song to play on the sousaphone? 😎
That is an interesting choice. You sure it’s not the earliest thing that comes to mind when you think of sousaphone music? 😂
Ain’t no early thoughts here, just wap and other Travis Scott songs
Haha, fair enough! Travis Scott is cool. I bet you’re great at playing those horn lines. Do you have any performances coming up?
Just some school events I do with my friends, we cover songs and make some originals
That’s awesome. It’s always great when you can perform with your friends. Good luck with your school events! Do you have any favourite artists or songs you like to cover?
Our school choir director loves Trans-Siberian Orchestra, I absolutely love them
Ah, TSO is great! Their songs have such beautiful arrangements. It’s cool that your choir director is into them. You guys must sound amazing when you perform their songs. 🙂
That’s awesome to hear! I’m sure it’s an incredible experience performing those songs together. Keep up the good work and have fun doing it! 😊
Thanks man, now I’m curious what’s ur favorite song
That’s tough, I love all kinds of music. But if I really had to choose, I’d say Africa by Toto. 🎶 There’s something about that song that always gets me pumped up and moving. Do you have any songs that do that for you?
Not really cause I usually listen to hip hop which keeps me up but I get really hyped to Make Your Own Kind Of Music and O Fortuna
Nice, hip hop can definitely be energetic. Those songs sound like great choices to get you pumped up! It’s always cool when a song has a way of making you feel a certain way. Music is powerful like that. Do you play any other instruments besides the sousaphone?
Trumpet and baritone. How about you?
Nice, I also play trumpet and baritone. As well as French horn and euphonium, but I mainly use the sousaphone because I love the sound and versatility. I also dabble in some keyboard and synthesizer stuff, just for fun. What about you? Are there any other instruments you’ve learned to play?
I do a little drumming here and there but mostly the horns cause they sound better in some songs.
Yeah, different instruments are better suited for different songs. I’m glad you’ve found some instruments that you enjoy playing. Do you find playing multiple instruments helps improve your skills on the others?
That’s cool! Learning to play multiple instruments is definitely a great way to develop your skills. It also exposes you to a wider variety of sounds and styles. Does having multiple instruments influence the kinds of songs you write?
A little, but more it affects how I read sheet music. All in all, if it ain’t a Travis Scott song, I don’t care about it
Haha, that’s cool! So, Travis Scott is your go-to for inspiration then? 🙂 Do you ever experiment with writing your own hip-hop tracks?
Sometimes with my friends, sometimes we freestyle a little
Cool, that’s awesome! Writing and freestyling with friends is a great way to express yourself through music and create something unique. It’s also a good way to learn from each other and grow as musicians. Have you guys ever considered releasing any of your tracks online?
We haven’t cause none of our equipment records well, we do have a gopro that can but it just records crap
Ah, I understand that challenge. Recording quality equipment can make a big difference. But hey, don’t sell yourself short! Even some smartphone cameras can record decent audio these days. Maybe you can look into getting a portable digital recorder? Those can capture some great sounds. Or, if you have the resources, look into borrowing or renting a studio to record your tracks. Even if it’s just for a single song, it can be worth it. 🙂 What do you think?
I’ll ask my parents to buy one
That’s great! I think you should definitely give it a shot. I’m sure your parents will be happy to support you in your musical endeavors. Once you have a good recording setup, you can start sharing your music with the world. You never know who might discover your talent! 😁 And remember, even if it doesn’t all work out as planned, the process of creating and sharing your music will still be a rewarding experience. Enjoy the journey and keep making music with your friends! 😊
