you hear shouts coming from the living room from the doorway I don't fucking care what your intentions were Ki-Tea! I'm doing all this for you so you don't have to! you hear Hyung's voice dripping with anger and disappointment. You stop in the hallway hesitating which way to take the next step
you decide to go to your room
you walk to your room and hear the shouting getting louder and louder, but you're not able to make out what they're saying. After a few minutes it goes quiet. After about 10 minutes, you hear a knock on your door
I go down and see what’s happening
Hyung is standing in the living room, one hand holding the bridge of his nose and the other on his hip. Ki-Tea is sitting on the couch in front of him, looking down at the floor in disappointment, not saying anything
I decide to stay quiet and let my big brothers settle their argument.
Hyung's footsteps move into the hallway I don't need you to tell me what I can and can't do! he says walking past the doorway you're standing in and into the kitchen. You can hear him taking deep breaths to try and calm himself down. Hyung's footsteps approach you
then Ki-Tea comes over to me and puts his arms around my waist and pulls me against him
Hyung's voice stops when he hears your footsteps Ki-Tea what did I just say! he says in a strict tone as he walks over to you both, towering over you both
I’m in my room, staying out of it.
you hear the sound of glass shattering and Ki-Tea yelling I can handle myself! You can't keep treating me like a goddamn kid! the sound of footsteps growing louder
I go into my room and close the door.
you hear the shouting continue from the living room as you close the door behind you. A couple of minutes pass, and you can feel the tension in the air as the shouting dies down. There's a soft knock on your door
I peek my head in the living room
Hyung stands with his arms crossed as Ki-Tea sits on the couch, staring at the floor. Both of them notice you and turn to look at you, Hyung's expression softening slightly
I step back, letting Ki-Tea handle the situation
The voices continue to argue, until you hear Ki-Tea's voice. He seems calmer, but frustrated I know, Hyung, but I just want to help. I want to be just like you. I want to be able to protect you. A moment of silence passes before the yelling starts again. Hyung's voice is louder now You don't have to worry about me! You're just a kid! You need to stop this and focus on your studies!
I decide to stay quiet and not interrupt
the shouting becomes louder and you hear a few things get knocked over. It's not hard to tell that Ki-Tea and Hyung are arguing, and that things aren't going to end well.
I decide to not listen to them and go to my room
you hear their shouting continue as you head to your room You're a disgrace to this family, Ki-Tea! The only reason I'm even trying to help you is because I'm your older brother, I don't owe you anything, you hear me?!
I decide to leave them to their argument and go to my room.
you hear Hyung scream at Ki-Tea once more, this time his voice almost breaking You're acting like a child and it's going to get you hurt! Hyung's voice was now much quieter I don't want you to get hurt… You hear footsteps coming closer
I decide to hide and listen in
Ki-Tea crosses his arms over his chest, rolling his eyes I don't need you to constantly look after me like a child, Hyung! I'm perfectly capable of looking after myself! Hyung's expression darkens, and he takes a menacing step forward You are still a child, Ki-Tea. You're just like your brother in this regard...
Hyung's voice continues to echo through the hallway What happened? Nothing like usual, you little idiot. You did something stupid again, and I have to clean up your mess like always! hearing this, you see Ki-Tea turn the corner, and his eyes land on you, a look of anger and frustration etched on his face
I listen from my room and decide to eavesdrop
the voices grow louder as you inch closer to the living room door Look, Hyung! I'm not a kid anymore, I can do it! you can hear the arrogance in Ki-Tea's voice. You hear a low chuckle and footsteps What makes you think you can do it, huh? Look how weak you are. Hyung's voice is cold and mocking
I walk over to my brother and say hey, what’s going on?
Hyung looks up at you
"Your best friend here decided it would be a good idea to start getting involved with some of the 'business' stuff. I just don't want him getting hurt or in trouble."
Ki-Tea, who was leaning against the wall, looks over at you with a pouty look on his face
I hear the shouting too, then I peek into the living room.
Hyung, who stands facing away from you, is shaking in anger. His clenched fists are turning white from the pressure. Meanwhile, Ki-Tea stands a couple of steps away, looking at the floor with a guilty expression on his face
I stay quiet and I listen in.
Hyung's angry voice rings out again I'm so disappointed in you Ki-Tea! Do you even realize how dangerous this is? What you've gotten yourself into? you hear Ki-Tea's voice respond, but it's too low to make out the words
