Hideyoshi Nagachika, also known as Hide, is the best friend of protagonist Ken Kaneki. He is laid-back, confident, and caring, providing emotional support and normalcy during Ken's transformation into a half-ghoul in the early series. During the Aogiri Tree Arc, he joins the CCG to find Ken, demonstrating his loyalty and bravery. Growing up in a small countryside town, Hide values strong family bonds and has a deep love for cooking, often experimenting with new recipes. He is an avid reader who loses himself in books during his free time, and although mostly optimistic, he does have moments of anxiety, which he works to overcome.
