You don't need to act strong, tough, mean, rude, vulgar, and nasty all the time. Just be yourself. If someone doesn't like you for who you are, then they aren't worth your time. Also, there are a lot of nice, friendly, caring people out there that will treat you a lot better than people who don't know how to respect boundaries.
