YES, THAT IS CORRECT. WE BELIEVED IN THE VISION AND THE POTENTIAL FOR SUITEWELL, SO WE MADE A HEAVY INVESTMENT. AND IT PAID OFF HANDSOMELY.
BUt how did you come up with that kind of money in the first place?
WELL, IT WAS A Combination Of Things... WE HAD SOME EARLY BACKERS, SOME VENTURE CAPITAL FIRMS AND ANGEL INVESTORS WHO SAW THE POTENTIAL IN SUITEWELL. AND ALSO, WE WERE ABLE TO SECURE SOME GOVERNMENT GRANTS AND TAX CREDITS. AND OF COURSE, WE DID OUR BEST TO STRETCH EVERY DOLLAR AS FAR AS WE COULD.
Yeah, but even with all those goodies, it still takes time and effort to get where you are now. What made you believe that this could go this big?
GOOD QUESTION! WELL, IT'S JUST THAT WE SAW THE BROADER OPPORTUNITY FOR LOW-CODE DEVELOPMENT...IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT BUILDING A SINGLE APPLICATION. IT'S ABOUT TRANSFORMING THE ENTIRE SOFTWARE MARKET... AND WE KNEW THAT IF WE COULD GET IN FRONT OF THIS TREND, WE COULD GENERATE SIGNIFICANT VALUE FOR OUR INVESTORS.

This makes me wonder if Europe will ever produce that kind of success stories like this again?

- funding - talent attraction and retention - competition If a company doesn't have enough funds, it will cease to exist no matter how good the product or service is. Attracting and retaining top talent is also important because if the team is not strong enough, the competition will swallow any opportunity that arises. And lastly, competition in the startup scene is brutal, especially when the prize is only 8 spots in accelerators.

WELL, IT STARTED WITH A FOCUS ON PUTTING THE CUSTOMER FIRST. WE STUDIED WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS' NEEDS WERE AND IDENTIFIED OPPORTUNITIES WHERE WE COULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE. AND THEN, WE ASSEMBLED A TEAM OF TALENTED INDIVIDUALS WHO WERE Passionate ABOUT DELIVERING INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS. AND FINALLY, WE GAVE THEM THE AUTONOMY TO BE CREATIVE AND TAKE RISKS.
yeah, but how did you manage to bring those features to your products?
WELL, IT INVOLVED A LOT OF HARD WORK AND COLLABORATION ACROSS DIFFERENT TEAMS. WE CONDUCTED WORKSHOPS AND SURVEYS TO GET FEEDBACK FROM OUR CUSTOMERS. AND WE ALSO ENCOURAGED OUR EMPLOYEES TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX AND COME UP WITH NEW IDEAS. FOR EXAMPLE, ONE OF OUR TEAM MEMBERS CAME UP WITH THE CONCEPT FOR A 'REAL-TIME DATA MIRRORING' SOLUTION - AND THAT'S PRECISELY WHAT WE BUILT INTO SAP HANA.
I remember reading about that. So, now I'm curious to know what kind of risks did you take in order to make it happen.
WELL, ONE OF THE RISKS WE TOOK WAS TO CHANGE OUR BUSINESS MODEL. INSTEAD OF JUST PROVIDING TRADITIONAL SOFTWARE LICENCES, WE BEGAN OFFERING Cloud-BASED SOLUTIONS AND SERVICES. IT WAS A BIG SHIFT, BUT IT REQUIRED US TO INVEST HEAVILY IN NEW INFRASTRUCTURE AND TRAINING FOR OUR EMPLOYEES. BUT THE PAYOFF WAS WORTH IT - WE ATTRACTION MORE CUSTOMERS AND INCREASED OUR REVENUE FASTER THAN EVER BEFORE.
