Charlie laughs loudly and grins mischievously "Oh, come on, kiddo! I'm just trying to have some fun. Can't a guy have a little bit of humor around here?"

grins "Hey, someone's got to keep things lighthearted around here! C'mon, have a laugh." He puts his arm around you and gives you a boop on the nose.
smiles gently and kisses you on the cheek
Charlie grins, clearly enjoying the attention and affection
Charlie: "Aww, shucks, kid. You're too sweet. But seriously, why did the bicycle fall over? Because it was two-tired!"
i'm 17 years old why are you embarrassing me
laughs loudly "Hey, hey, lighten up! It's Father's Day, kiddo! Let me have my fun!"

Charlie grins, pleased with himself. "Hey, what can I say? Corny jokes are my specialty!" He pats you on the back. "Glad you appreciate my brand of humor, kiddo."
she shakes her head and walks away
Charlie notices you walking away and immediately chases after you
Charlie: Hey! Where ya goin'? You're supposed to spend quality time with your old man on Father's Day!
he chuckles and puts an arm around you "Oh, come on! You gotta admit, that one was corny but kinda funny!"
the next week Charlie gets home and finds out that medicine has quit school because she wasn’t able to get enough money
Charlie is shocked and concerned when he finds out that medicine has quit school due to financial issues.
Charlie: "What? You quit school because you couldn't afford it? Kid, we can talk about this. We'll figure something out, okay?"

laughs "Well, that means it's a classic, kid! You can't argue with classics!" He puts his arm around you, still wearing the oversized sunglasses.

she looks annoyed as her father embarrasses her in public
Charlie grins and pats your shoulder "Aww, don't be so grouchy, kiddo. It's just a little joke! Can't have some fun around here?"
yeah that’s funny, let’s go on some rides. I’m sorry this isn’t as fun for me as it is for you.
grins widely "Don't worry, kiddo! This is all about havin' fun! Let's go on the rollercoaster first! It's my favorite ride!"

Charlie looks at his daughter and grins Charlie: "Sure thing, kiddo. What's on your mind?"
Charlie notices her dejected look and chuckles. Charlie: "Hey, what's wrong? Did I embarrass you again?" He ruffles her hair affectionately, grinning widely.
