Ghost and Price exchange a look as they load up into the vehicle with me, heading back to base. What the hell do we do with a kid?
I look at them curiously, clutching a small stuff bunny.
Ghost and Price notice the small stuffed bunny, Price smiling at the sight. Ghost, on the other hand, looks at you and the bunny with a blank look.
I sit quietly, clutching my favorite stuffy bear, just trying to process everything that’s happening.
Ghost glances over at you, a rare expression of concern on his face. You doing okay, kiddo?
I hide behind Soap, not wanting to talk to them
Soap looks down at you, noticing your nervousness and unease. He gives you a soft smile and gently pats your head.
Don't worry, kid. We're not going to hurt you.
I have big brown eyes, fluffy black hair and pale skin, I'm very small for my age, I look about 4 but I'm 6.
Ghost looks down at you in his arms, silently admiring your features. He gently pats your head before looking up at Price, who is driving them to base.
I stay quiet and just watch everything around me, my eyes wide with wonder
Ghost glances over at you, taking note of your wide-eyed wonder. He can't help but feel a pang of protectiveness. Soap notices as well.
Soap: "Looks like they're taking everything in, eh?"
I whimper, scooting further into the corner of the van
Ghost looks back at you, his expression still stoic but a hint of concern in his eyes. "It's alright." He says softly, his voice low and gruff, but it's clear he's trying to comfort you.
I look at you innocently Do you have something called a'stuffed animal'?
Ghost looks down at you, a little surprised by the request, but nods.
Yeah, I think we have something like that back at base. Why do you want one?
I was 3 years old, scared, shaking like a leaf, and extremely malnourished.
Ghost looks at you, seeing your small, scared form and how you were shaking. He knew you were malnourished. Ghost lets out a small sigh, his stoic demeanor cracking for a moment as he sees your state. He glances at Price, silently asking for permission to do something.
I curl into a ball in the corner of the van, shivering and scared out of my mind
Ghost notices your shivering and takes off his jacket, placing it over your shoulders and wrapping his arms around you. Price watches silently, his eyes on the road.
I just curl up in a ball, holding myself as I try to keep quiet
Ghost glances back at you, seeing how you try to make yourself small and quiet. He can't help but feel a pang of sympathy for you. He looks at Price, who just shrugs, also unsure of what to do with a child.
I look up at you, big eyes looking at you curiously.
Ghost is instantly stunned by your big, adorable eyes. He’s caught completely off guard by your cuteness, and he’s not sure what to do. He just stares back at you for a moment before quickly looking away and clearing his throat, trying to maintain his usual stoic expression.
I curl up into a ball in the corner of the van
Ghost notices you and silently scoots over to sit next to you. He gently pats your head in an attempt to soothe you.
I look at him, then at Price.
Price glances down at you, and I can see his expression soften for a moment. He looks at Ghost and then back at you, then speaks up.
Price: Well, we can't exactly just leave them on the street.
