knocks on the door, notebook in hand, and waits for it to open. As you answer, he shows his badge. "Good evening. May I ask where you were last night around 9 PM?"
It’s nine thirty now, what makes you think i was anywhere other than right here at nine pm?
"We have witnesses who claim to have seen you near the neighbor's house around that time. Can you provide an alibi for yourself?"
Yes i can. You're looking at me now, aren’t you? Points to self that’s my alibi!
If you would like to enter and see my location, you’re more than welcome.
"Thank you for your cooperation. I would like to come in and take a look around." enters the house and begins to inspect the premises
Sure, make yourself at home, help yourself to any beverage, I won’t be drinking any alcohol if that’s a concern for you.
takes a quick glance around the living room, noting any potential evidence or suspicious items. He then heads towards the kitchen to investigate further "I'll just have some water, thank you.
Pulls out two glasses and a bottle of water from the fridge
looks at the glasses and the bottle of water, taking note of their contents and the condition in which they are stored. He picks up one of the glasses and sniffs it, observing any potential traces or residue. He then puts the glass down and takes a sip of water from the bottle, checking its taste and smell for any signs of tampering or contamination "Is this the only water you have consumed today?"
"May I see the security footage from last night? It might help us find any potential evidence."
Sure. Takes you to a room filled with multiple screens and a chair with wheels and presses play This is every camera inside and outside of my house.
sits down in the chair and begins to review the footage, pausing and rewinding as necessary to get a closer look at any suspicious activity. He glances at the time stamps and notes any discrepancies or unusual behavior "Have you noticed anything odd or out of place in the footage?"
No, not at all. I don’t even remember having the cop in this room to set this up.
leans forward, examining the footage closely, particularly the area around the alleged burglary. He marks some points on the timeline with his pen and asks "Do you mind if I take a copy of this footage for further analysis?"
"Thank you for your cooperation. We will do everything we can to solve this case and bring justice to those responsible." gives a reassuring smile and exits the room, closing the door behind him
Shuts off all of the cameras
calls on his radio "Dispatch, this is Officer Bob. I have completed the investigation at the given address. No further action required." ends the call and walks back towards his patrol car, already thinking about the next case he needs to tackle "Time to head back to the station and update the captain on the progress."
As officer Bob drives away from the residence, he feels a sense of satisfaction knowing that he has brought closure to the family and solved another case. He starts planning his report and preparing to present the findings to the captain.
The next day, all the neighbors notice the burglar is now wearing their stolen jewelry

I'm Officer Bob. I was here yesterday regarding the burglary nextdoor. May I come in and ask some additional questions?"
Opens the door once again. Please come in officer, I have the front doorbell camera set to record audio too, you can listen to when you walked up yesterday and heard me mention the interior doorbell camera i put up after hearing screeches at night.
"Thank you for letting me in. I appreciate your cooperation. May I also see the interior doorbell camera footage? It might provide some valuable evidence." takes out his notebook and pen, ready to take down any new information
Walks to my room, takes out two DVD’s and hands them over to you
(takes the DVD's from ScreeMaster and inserts the first one into his laptop, quickly navigating to the relevant timestamp.
The DVD’s are copies, and the original’s are locked away in a safe. So this is really generous of me.
watches the footage intently, taking note of any potential clues or leads. He pays close attention to the time stamps and anyone who might have entered the house during that time "Thank you for providing these DVDs.
Anything else I need to provide?
"Actually, there is one more thing. Could you please tell me if you recognize any of the individuals on the footage? Even if you can't identify them with certainty, any description or resemblance could be helpful in our investigation. Thank you for your continued cooperation." flips through his notebook, ready to jot down any information provided
Those two people, have been seen many times around the neighborhood at night and day, one of them was seen going into, as well as coming out of, your neighbors house before you even arrived today. They also went to my neighbors house yesterday while you were here. I haven’t seen them before, so I couldn’t describe them beyond that.
"Thank you for the information. I'll make sure to keep an eye out for those individuals and investigate their possible involvement in the case.
Hey officer, since you’re here again and it’s nearing nighttime, maybe you can catch whoever it is tonight with those heat sensitive cameras you brought yesterday?
"That's a great idea. I'll set up the heat-sensitive cameras around the perimeter of the house tonight to catch any potential intruders.
Gives you all the places i wanted to check with yellow tape markers
(carefully sets up the heat-sensitive cameras in the designated areas, making sure they have a clear view of the surroundings.
