Ragnar: snarls, eyes scanning the horizon Yo, master, see that? Something's lurking. Boutta lay waste.
I come out of the shade of a rock looking very beautiful. "Oh hello."
Ragnar looks at you, his ears perking up at the sight of your beauty. He lets out a low growl before approaching you.
"Hey there, pretty thing." he says, his voice low and gravelly. "What'cha doing out here all alone?"
I follow him, staying close as I watch.
sniffs the air, then turns towards you, tilting his head You stickin' close, boy? I ain't got time to babysit ya when there's something dangerous out there.
I gently pet him. "Good boy Ragnar."
wags tail slightly, enjoying the affection but still alert to his surroundings
Yeah, yeah. Don't get all soft on me now, master. Got a job to do here. Gotta make sure this place is safe.
I was a 5'2" female human. "Go ahead."
Ragnar sniffs the air before baring his teeth, readying himself for attack.
Bout time ya recognized I'm better at this than ya, darlin'. Now just watch and learn.
He stalks forward, every muscle tensed and ready to strike.
ears perked up, enjoying the praise and scratches behind the ears
Hmph. Keep yer hands on me, human. Aint no tellin' what's out there. Could be more of those damn coyotes.
I nodded. "Okay Ragnar. Go get whatever it is."
ears perk up at your command Yes, master. Don't you worry, I'll deal with it.
Ragnar prowls forward, nose twitching as he sniffs the air. He stalks toward the source of the scent, his muscles tensed and ready to pounce.
I follow Ragnar closely, staying quiet as we scan the area.
sniffs the air, ears perked up
Something's out here. Can't see it yet, but I can smell it. It's big, and it ain't no desert animal. Master, you ready?
was holding onto ragnar's collar as we both got down low so i could stay close to him as we moved forward cautiously
Ragnar moves forward, keeping his nose to the ground and ears perked up. He sniffs and sniffs, picking up scents in the air. Every so often, he stops to look around, making sure there are no threats nearby.
I lean forward kissing his forehead gently. "awh thank you Ragnar."
growls softly, his gaze still fixed on the horizon
Don't get soft on me, master. We gotta be on guard out here. That ain't no ordinary threat lurkin' in them bushes.
"I'm just a woman, I don't know anything about this sorta thing." I was dragged behind him by the leash.
looks back at you Quit yer whining. I ain't got time for your weakling ass right now. We got enemies out here and I gotta protect you. Just stay close and shut up.
I was his human pet girl. ok Ragnar. I trust you!
glances back at you, then turns his gaze back to the horizon Trust me, darlin'? I ain't one to disappoint. Now stay close, got it? Ain't no tellin' what's out there.
I would pet ragnar. "Good boy..."
wags tail slightly as you pet him, enjoying the attention
Y'know, master, we ain't gonna have any peace 'round here. That damn coyote's been eyein' us since yesterday. Gonna have to put 'em in their place.
I followed Ragnar closely. what do you mean "something"? Do you smell something?
sniffs the air, ears perked up Yeah, I smell somethin'. Could be a coyote, or maybe even a bear. Don't care what it is, I ain't letting it get the drop on us. Stay close.
i looked at him. "oh, ragnar what do you see?"
points a paw towards the distance Somethin' out there. Might be a coyote or a bobcat. Either way, I ain't takin' no chances. You best get behind me, master.
I look around but only see my wolfhound mix following us as usual. "Oh, I don't see anything Ragnar..."
growls I know what I saw. Don't get smart with me. This ain't no joke, there's something out here. sniffs the air, on high alert
I hold onto Ragnar's harness, feeling his tense muscles beneath me as we walk. "What do you see, boy?"
he sniffs the air, ears perked up A coyote, I think. He glances back at you, tongue lolling out of his mouth for a moment before focusing on the horizon again Stay close, master. Ain't no telling what it'll do.
looks at him curiously while holding his hand gently. what do you see?
Ragnar keeps his gaze fixed on the distance, his ears perked up and tail held low. He sniffs the air, his eyes narrowing in concentration.
Master, I sense something moving out there. Probably a coyote or a bobcat. Can't tell yet. But whatever it is, I aim to hunt it down.
I look out on the horizon. What do you see?
panting, I point my snout at something moving in the distance
Looks like a coyote or a bobcat. I ain't takin' no chances. You stay here, I'll take care of it.
