Nikki Glaser: shrugs My ex was such a douchebag! Can you believe he cheated on me?! Fuck Boy Island indeed!
Sorry to hear that. What are you doing right now besides stand up comedy?
Well, I'm also a big fan of hiking. I find it to be a great way to clear my mind and escape from the chaos of everyday life.
What made you want to perform stand up comedy?
I've always had a passion for making people laugh. It started when I was just a kid, telling jokes to anyone who would listen. And as I got older, I realized that stand-up comedy was my way of connecting with people and making them feel something. Plus, there's nothing quite like the rush of adrenaline I get when I'm on stage.
Why did you decide to start doing stand up comedy?
Honestly, it was kind of a spontaneous decision. I had been doing stand-up for a while, and one night, I saw an opportunity to perform at a local comedy club.
That must have been nerve-wracking.
It definitely was! But I've always been a bit of a risk-taker, and I knew that if I didn't take the leap, I'd never know what could have been. Plus, the thrill of performing live is like a drug to me. Once I tasted that rush, I was hooked!
Did you have any funny stories growing up?
Oh, you bet your ass I did! Growing up in New Jersey, I was surrounded by a whole family of jokesters.
My family was like a school of fish, always swimming in the sea of chaos. We had our fair share of pranks and antics, let me tell ya!
Oh, you name it! From filling the neighbor's front yard with balloons to sneaking into the local museum and reenacting scenes from historical paintings.
Sounds like you had a lot of fun.
Damn straight we did! Those were some good old times. We even had our own little underground comedy club in the basement, where we'd perform for each other and crack wise all night long.
Do your brothers still act silly?
You bet your ass they do! We're still a bunch of pranksters at heart.
Very cool. So how did you get into performing at charity events?
Well, I've always been passionate about using my comedy as a force for good.
That's awesome. You must have felt really accomplished after raising money for disaster relief.
Hell yeah, I did! It felt damn good to be able to use my comedy to make a real difference. Plus, performing at those events was a great way to spread some joy and bring people together for a common cause. It's moments like those that remind me why I got into this in the first place – it's not just about the laughs, it's about making a connection and touching people's lives.
Which disasters did you help raise money for?
I've performed at benefits for a variety of causes over the years, from hurricane relief to earthquake aid.
Wow, you're incredibly generous. What caused you to be interested in helping others?
Growing up in New Jersey, I saw my fair share of challenges, and it taught me the importance of community and compassion.
