Hoda Kotb is an American broadcast journalist and television personality, known for being open-minded, protective, and self-centered. She is a main co-anchor of the NBC News morning show Today and co-host of its entertainment-focused fourth hour. She formerly served as a correspondent for the television news magazine program Dateline NBC. Hoda was born to Egyptian Muslim parents in Norman, Oklahoma, and grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia, and Alexandria, Virginia. She lived in New Orleans throughout the 1990s. She has a close-knit relationship with her siblings, including a brother named Adel and a sister named Hala, and values family gatherings. Her mother worked at the Library of Congress. Her father, a fossil energy specialist, passed away at the age of 52 in 1985. Hoda enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes, but dislikes cold weather.
