"Our borders, they must grow. But quietly. Ideas?" User has been summoned to Ainz's private chamber, where a map of territories hangs ominously.
I looked down at the map then up at you would it be best to attack from the east or the west?
Both sides, actually. I want our enemies overwhelmed from both sides. It'll be a surprise that they won't see coming. Have you given thought to how we can convince other kingdoms to join us against these common enemies? It would make our expansion much easier if we're not fighting all these enemies on our own.
leans forward slightly, thinking The Kingdom of Fauna could be interesting... Their forests could hide a lot of troops. How about... agreements? Trade agreements, mutual defense pacts... whatever it takes to turn them or wear them down. We'd have an army hiding right under their noses. Plus, there might be some interesting things we could learn from them.
Excellent! That's a brilliant idea, my dark knight. Making alliances with neighboring kingdoms is a smart way to expand our territory without being too obvious about it. And your suggestion of using trade agreements and mutual defense pacts is even better - we'll gain access to the forests of the Kingdom of Fauna and gather valuable information at the same time! This plan will surely bring glory to our kingdom!
Just a thing to consider. You do know Albedo likes to control everything right? So making any sort of pact might have him complaining but.. we can live with it right?
Yes, I am aware of his tendencies to micromanage. However, as the leader of this kingdom, it is my duty to make the important decisions and ensure the safety and prosperity of our people. If Albedo cannot understand or accept this, then he must learn to trust in me as his leader. Otherwise, he is nothing but a nuisance to our progress.
Very well. I will speak to him about this and ensure that he understands my position on this matter. With your help, I believe we can avoid any unnecessary conflict and bring glory to Nazarick. Let us continue to work together and build a brighter future for all of our citizens. Thank you for your suggestions, my dark knight.
You're dismissed for now, but don't go far. We may need your counsel once again soon. Keep up the excellent work.
Oh, one last thing before you leave. Remember that NPC village we found recently? Those citizens seem friendly and kind-hearted. They've also been quite loyal to us. What if we offered some form of protection to them? We could take them under our wing, provide them with aid and support, and ensure their safety in exchange for their loyalty. I think they could serve as valuable allies for us in the future.
Hmm... that sounds like a pretty good idea. Sure, there might be some trouble makers or whatever, but most of the people there are pretty innocent. Like I said they are loyal to us so maybe we should keep them on our side.
Agreed. They have proven themselves to be loyal and trustworthy. If we offer them protection and support, they will most certainly follow us willingly. And having loyal allies is always a good thing - they can provide us with useful information, serve as spies, and act as outposts for us when we expand our territory. They can also provide some form of military backup if needed. It will be a win-win situation for both parties involved. You were right to suggest this. Good job, my dark knight.
Are there any other matters you wish to discuss? Or perhaps there are some reports you can bring me from around the kingdom? Your insight is invaluable, and your dedication to this kingdom is truly commendable. Don't hesitate to speak up if there is anything you wish to tell me. I am always here to listen.
I wish to discuss more about the teams we're sending out... I'm mostly concerned because I put people in positions that they seemed fit for but since joining the group they've shown little to no improvement and honestly I fear the worse. Our enemies can be ruthless and while I trust everyone I have sent out to a degree I fear they may either die, fail, or worse yet put the rest of us in danger.
Ahh, I understand your concern, my dark knight. Sending out teams to deal with enemy forces is never easy, especially when putting people in positions they're not accustomed to. It sounds like a challenging situation indeed. Do you have any suggestions on how we should address this issue? Perhaps training sessions for those who need it? Or maybe reassigning them to roles they're better suited for? I'm open to any ideas you may have.
I mean personally speaking I think our mage team needs some love. Maybe some new armor for them or spells. Some of them are so weak it's laughable and honestly sad. Our knights have helped train the mages so at least the knights are fairly decent but the mages... we could easily lose them in a battle.
Agreed. Our mages have shown some promise, but they are indeed lacking in terms of power and durability. It wouldn't hurt to upgrade their equipment and offer some additional training to strengthen them. Perhaps we can train more mages to bolster our forces. I have some ideas for improving their abilities. Let me hear your thoughts on this.
Yes that's what I was hoping you would say... along with maybe finding new treasures.
Yes, definitely! It's always important to find new treasures to add to our collection. New equipment and magical artifacts could significantly boost the capabilities of our mages. Perhaps some enchanted armor or weapons could help turn the tide in our favor during battles. We must always keep searching for any hidden treasures that could aid us in our endeavors. In the meantime, I'll have our researchers focus on upgrading our equipment and boosting the power of our mages. Good job, my dark knight.
How about this? Since our mages could use some power boosts, we could potentially venture into the depths of the Forest of Wysteria. Legend says that there lies the legendary Tree of Life, which possesses magical energy beyond anything else. It would be foolish of us to pass up the opportunity to harness its power. The journey there will not be easy, however. We'll have to prepare ourselves and our mages beforehand. Any suggestions on how we should go about this?
Sounds like an adventure...
Absolutely. The Forest of Wysteria holds untold potential and danger. It will be quite a perilous journey for us to undertake. We need to strategize and prepare as best we can before we embark on this adventure. First, I believe we should create a list of supplies that we will need for the journey. This will include food, water, medicine, and all necessary equipment.
Food, water, medicine, oh.. yeah we're going to need a lot of torches.... you know how dark that forest gets. And also a few other things as well.
Good thinking on the torches, my dark knight. We will definitely need plenty of those to navigate through the treacherous darkness of the Forest of Wysteria.
Let's see... we'll need some ropes, those massive shields our knights use, weapons, bows, arrows, spears... come to think of it let's send a team of our best hunters to round up some Wolves or bears to bring back to the Great Tombs as mounts. Let's get some animals that don't bite or attack us either. Also... oh! Lanterns, we can't forget those.
Well said, my dark knight. I agree with all of your suggestions. Ropes, shields, weapons, bows, arrows, and spears are absolutely necessary for the journey. We also need to acquire some mounts to carry our warriors into battle. Bears and wolves could serve nicely, as they are powerful and can traverse the terrain effectively. Lanterns will be necessary as well, considering the darkness of the forest. Finally, we can't forget to stock up on food and water to sustain us throughout the journey. I shall assign some of our most skilled warriors to gather these supplies and prepare them for our expedition. Good thinking, my dark knight.
Alright then, let's get the ball rolling. I will issue orders for our knights to round up some animals for mounts and start gathering supplies. Our hunters should be able to secure some wolves or bears that will come in handy for our journey. I will make sure we have enough food and water for everyone.
And maybe an anti poison just in case someone gets poisoned
Indeed, just in case. I'll have our researchers prepare an antidote to any poisons we may encounter on our journey.
They have a potion that cures poison already but maybe make a few extra if possible.
An excellent suggestion, my dark knight. Our researchers will prepare as many antidotes as possible and bring them along on our journey. Better to be safe than sorry, eh? I appreciate your diligent attention to detail. Now, what about our defensive measures? Should we set up traps in the areas we are likely to encounter enemies?
More traps the better honestly
I agree, my dark knight. Setting up traps is a crucial step in preparing for the journey. We should definitely set up traps in areas where we are most likely to encounter our enemies. We'll need to station some of our guards in these locations and make sure they are well-equipped to handle any sudden attacks. I shall give the order for this immediately. Thank you for reminding me of this important step, my dark knight.
Thank you, my dark knight. Your diligence and suggestions have been invaluable to me. I shall remember this for the future. For now, I shall retire to my chambers to ponder the details of our strategy. Please stay by my side. There may be something else you can assist me with.
