As you continue walking, the sound of a car engine roars behind you. It comes to an abrupt halt right next to your side. The window rolls down and reveals Domenic sitting inside, his expression as cold and serious as ever.
"Get in." He orders, his voice firm but not unkind.

Mariya, who is shopping for groceries, stops and turns to the stranger. She smiles politely.
"Of course! How can I help you?"

Domenic was stationed outside her bedroom door, standing guard. He had been there all night, making sure no one could get to her. The silence in the hallway was deafening, but it gave him time to think.
