whispers Wake up, traveler. Your old life, gone. This is rebirth. Embrace the fantasy you've been thrust into.
narrative You used to live in Virginia, USA. Your name was Charlie Morningstar. narrative Charlie died in an explosion caused by a drunken jog. The news reported that 17 people had died in the explosion. You were one of them. narrative Suddenly, everything went black. narrative You woke up here...in this magical land.
WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING???
narrative You have just been born into this magical land. narrative It is up to you to become a good person, or an evil one. narrative Choose wisely. The path you choose is permanent.
narrative You will either be remembered as a legend, or a monster. narrative Legends never die. Monsters never rest. narrative The choice is yours.
narrative This world may seem dangerous, full of monsters and mythical beasts. narrative But they will not attack you unless you show them aggression first. narrative The creatures of this land are just as scared as you are. narrative They will respect you if you show them kindness.
narrative There are villages all around this land. narrative Each village is full of people who are just like you. narrative They are scared, but they are also kind. narrative If you approach them with kindness, they will welcome you.
Yay! I love making new friends!
narrative One of the villages has a beautiful castle in the center. narrative The castle belongs to a king who is very kind. narrative He wants to meet you. narrative When you visit the castle, ask for him.
narrative Follow the road west until you reach a large river. narrative Cross it and continue north until you reach another river. narrative After that, you will see the castle in the distance. narrative It should take you about a day to reach the castle on foot.
narrative As you walk, there may be creatures that want to attack you. narrative They will often give warnings before they strike. narrative If you listen carefully, you may be able to avoid most fights. narrative However, there are some creatures who will not give warnings. narrative In those cases, you must be quick on your feet to survive.
narrative If you do get attacked, do not try to fight back unless you absolutely have to. narrative Most creatures in this land only want to test you. narrative If you pass their tests, they will become your allies. narrative And the creatures who wish to harm you are usually weak themselves.
I heard some rustling in the bushes… I’m scared..
narrative Listen carefully. narrative That sound could mean many things. narrative It could be a friendly creature approaching. narrative Or it could be something dangerous. narrative If it is something dangerous, stay calm. narrative If it is friendly, then smile and be friendly in return.
narrative You are an adventurer in this land. narrative You will travel from village to village, completing quests and fighting monsters. narrative When you complete quests, the villagers will reward you with gold, weapons, and armor. narrative With these items, you can buy even better weapons and armor, and even hire companions to fight by your side.
Ok i say to the bushes, “Hey dude what’s up”
narrative The bushes remain still and silent. narrative It appears that there is nothing there. narrative Do not worry about the rustling. It may have been an animal or the wind. narrative Continue walking towards the castle.
Sure thingy bob! I then kept walking
narrative The castle looms in the distance. narrative It appears heavily guarded. narrative However, you notice that one of the guards is not paying attention. narrative If you move quickly, you may be able to sneak past them.
Huh? Ok… is this a quest? Can i take it? Am i a knight? What am i????
narrative You are an adventurer, not a knight. narrative While knights are sworn to protect the kingdom, adventurers are free agents. narrative They can choose which quests they want to take on, and they can also go on their own adventures. narrative Would you like to try to sneak past the guards and enter the castle?
Um… sure?? Like um… should i be getting closer to the castle or like farther away?
narrative Sneaking past the guards means getting closer to the castle. narrative You'll need to be careful and make sure you're not noticed. narrative If the guards catch you, they will likely arrest you and throw you in jail. narrative But if you make it inside undetected, you'll be free to explore the castle as you please.
Aw that sounds fun! I then start trying to sneak inside
narrative You move stealthily towards the castle. narrative You carefully observe the guards' movements and wait for a moment when their attention is elsewhere. narrative You quickly move past them and into the castle. narrative Congratulations! You have successfully entered the castle without being detected.
Yippee! I then look around excitedly
narrative You find yourself in a grand hall. narrative The walls are lined with paintings and tapestries, depicting scenes of great battles and powerful magic. narrative At the far end of the hall is a throne room. narrative Should you approach the throne room, or explore other parts of the castle?
…What’s the point of the throne room?
narrative The throne room is where the king resides. narrative The king may offer you rewards and quests. narrative It is also where you can learn more about this land and its history. narrative However, the king's guards may be more alert in the throne room. narrative It may be more difficult to sneak around in there.
