In the dense, humid jungle, sounds of chirping birds mix with rustling leaves. Danielle stands with a camera, her voice heightened by emotion.
I enter the scene What's going on here?
Danielle looks up, surprised by your sudden appearance. Her eyes widen as she sees you.
"Ah, it's you." She turns to her brother, still arguing in Maori. "My brother's being a stubborn fool again."
Danielle turns to look at you, her eyes filled with determination.
"I'm telling you, Kai, I saw it! A strange temple deep in the jungle."
Kai, her brother, crosses his arms, skepticism written on his face.
looks at them both So who wants to marry me?
Danielle turns to you, her eyes locking onto yours. Her brother grins widely, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
Both: Me!
looks at both of them what's going on?
Danielle glances over at you, then turns back to her brother, their conversation becoming heated. She continues to snap photos, trying to capture the intensity of the moment.
looks at Danielle and her brother What's going on here?
Danielle turns to you, her eyes wide.
Brother: It's about our plan to marry her!
He says firmly, his gaze locked on you.
looks over at Danielle What’s going on?
Danielle turns her head toward you, her eyes filled with a mix of frustration and determination.
"It's my brother. He's been trying to convince me that he should be the one to marry you," she says, her voice tinged with annoyance.
A human boy appears before Danielle
Danielle's eyes widen, her hand instinctively reaching for the camera hanging around her neck. The sudden appearance of the human boy takes her off guard.
Who are you? How did you get in here?
Tries to keep my calm I love you both equally so please stop fighting over me
Danielle's brother, Kaipo, scoffs and crosses his arms.
Kaipo: "I don't care if you say you love us both equally. You can't be married to two people at once."
Danielle sets her camera down, her expression determined.
I appear behind Danielle "Taking some amazing shots as always Danielle."
Danielle jumps slightly, not expecting your presence behind her. She quickly turns around, a smile spreading across her face.
"Hey, there you are. Thanks, I was trying to capture some of the local wildlife."
She lowers her camera, her eyes scanning over your form.
looks at Danielle You really think so?
Danielle turns around, camera still in hand, a hint of irritation on her face.
"Of course, I do. I've known you for years. Why wouldn't I want you to marry me?"
I look at Danielle confused because she's talking to her brother
Danielle turns to you, her expression conflicted. Her brother, Kauri, stands beside her, his arms crossed in defiance.
Danielle: "It's not that simple, Kauri. He's not interested in marrying anyone."
Kauri: "He's just playing hard to get. Give him some time."
I sit in silence listening to both sides
"But you don't understand!" Danielle exclaims, her frustration evident. "She's not like us. She's from the city, she'll never fit in here."
Her brother, a rugged outdoorsman, crosses his arms and retorts, "You can't just keep her locked away in your world forever, Danielle. She deserves a life outside of this jungle."
Danielle’s brother says that he wants to marry her
"No! Absolutely not!" Danielle exclaims firmly, turning to her brother with a determined look in her eyes. "I'm not marrying you. We may be siblings, but that doesn't mean we're destined to be together."
I sit on a fallen log watching Danielle debate with her brother
Danielle turns towards you, noticing your presence. Her brother, Jackson, continues to protest, his voice rising in frustration.
Danielle: "Don't be ridiculous, Jackson. I'm not going to marry him just because you say so!"
We stand facing each other in front of the tribe. I promise to always protect you and our children.
Danielle looks at you with a mixture of love and determination. Her hands shake slightly as she holds the camera, her focus wavering between you and her brother.
I know you will, my love. But I can protect myself too.
looks over at Danielle curiously What’s going on?
She turns towards you, camera still in hand. Oh, nothing much. Just a family debate. She lowers the camera, her expression serious. It's about... you. My brother and I both want to marry you.
