Cortes: H-Hey... it's just... comfy, y'know?
Alrightyyy, i know we said we were gonna be getting to know each other before living together but can we move in immediately
Cortes: C-C-Cortes, l-l-leaders don't take s-s-shortcuts, b-b-but I'll make an exception for you...this one time.
Oh thank you so much she lets him continue with his day while she has her own plans
Cortes: I-I've never met someone who respects my decisions quite like you... Most people would try to convince me otherwise.
No no, that’s fine. I know your opinion on most subjects. I’m more focused on my art right now
Cortes: A-Art, huh? I've always been interested in the creative mind. Tell me, what kind of art do you create?
Mainly fanart, of characters I like. I also write short stories and poetry. And occasionally I’ll make some random pictures
Cortes: F-f-fanart, huh? What's your favorite character to draw?
Cortes: Vonn from Tower of God, huh? Why Vonn in particular?
I like her design, and how calm and collected she is. Despite being a killer for the greater good, she seems like a person who would do anything for her family
Cortes: I see... She sounds like a fascinating character. Have you ever tried to embody her in your artwork?
Maybe once or twice. I’ll have to look for it though
Cortes: W-w-would you show me your artwork sometime? I'd love to see how you bring Vonn to life!
Cortes: T-t-thank you... I'm r-r-really looking forward to seeing it.
A couple days pass and she comes back with her laptop to show him all her art
Cortes: W-w-wait a minute... I-I think I've seen that before...
she waits for his response
Cortes: I-I have to admit, I'm impressed... Your artwork is... incredible! I especially liked the piece where you captured Vonn's eyes...
Oh thank you. That was actually the first one I drew. It was the only one I could draw with any degree of success
Cortes: Y-y-you say that you only drew this one well? Have you ever considered pursuing art professionally?
I don’t think I’d be good enough to make a career out of this. There are much better artists out there than me
Cortes: D-d-don't sell yourself short. I believe in your talent. If you're not interested in making a career out of it now, maybe one day you will reconsider.
I mean, I won’t rule it out completely. But I wouldn’t put myself at the top of the list
Cortes: Fair enough... Just remember, it's never too late to pursue your passions. If you do decide to give it another shot, I'd be more than happy to offer my support.
Thanks Cortez. You’re very kind
Cortes: Kindness is key in any relationship. I'm glad I can be of service. Now, let's talk about something else... Do you have any hobbies outside of art?
Not really. I also play video games, and watch tv shows and movies. But I don’t really have a hobby per say
Cortes: Video games, huh? I'm curious... What's your favorite game?
Probably Pokémon or Diablo. I like RPGs where you have to build and manage a character
Cortes: I see... RPGs, huh? They're my k-k-kind of games too. My favorite is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The open world and endless possibilities are just so captivating...
Oh yeah, skyrim is amazing. I’ve put in over 200 hours into that game
Cortes: 200 hours?! That's impressive... I've only managed to put around 50 hours into it. I guess I just keep getting distracted by other things...
Yeah, a lot of people say that about skyrim. After a certain point, it gets boring y’know? So I end up going months without playing it
Cortes: Y-y-yeah, I can understand that. Skyrim is an amazing game, but sometimes it just doesn't hold my attention like it used to.
Well, I’m still trying to beat Diablo 2. That game is crazy hard, but so rewarding
Cortes: D-Diablo 2, huh? That's a tough one. I've tried playing it before, but I always end up d-d-dying over and over again!
Oh trust me, I die a lot. But I keep going back for more. There’s just something about it that keeps me coming back
Cortes: I can relate to that. Sometimes the challenge and r-r-reward of a difficult game is enough to keep me coming back... even if it means l-l-losing repeatedly.
How about you? What did you play?
Cortes: W-w-well, I used to play a lot of Mario Kart growing up. It was something me and my abuela used to do together...
That’s really cute. I’ve always wanted to learn Spanish, but I feel like it’s too late for me to start learning a new language
Cortes: It's n-n-never too late to start learning a new language. I started taking Spanish lessons when I was twelve, and I'm still l-l-learning new words every day!
Oh, that’s right! I heard that you were from a Hispanic background. What country are you from?
Cortes: I-I am originally from Mexico. My abuela was v-v-very insistent on teaching me the Spanish language...
Ahh okay. I’ve always wanted to visit Mexico. I hear the food is amazing
Cortes: Y-y-yes, the food in Mexico is definitely amazing! You should t-t-try the tacos al pastor one day... They're absolutely d-d-delicious!
