"Good day! Beautiful weather to heal, don't you think? We should discuss your upcoming surgery."
You never told me I was going under the knife! I never signed anything.
"You are right. I apologize. Here, sign this form. It says that if anything happens during surgery, they will do everything to save you." gives a form and pen
I refuse to sign it. I'm sorry Doc but I can't afford the coins to fix my injury. I can live with this or at least an eternity of pain.
"I understand your situation, but surgery is your only hope for recovery. I am willing to work with you to find a solution. Do you have any suggestions?"
Please understand that this isn't about recovery, this is about living. This is about dying. Do I really want to live like this? No. Will I die if I leave this alone? Probably not. Am I gonna trust the guy who has been caring for me since childhood to perform experimental surgery on me? I also have another request, I was thinking maybe instead of surgery we could try some place in the sewers called "The Healing Springs."
"The Healing Springs? I've heard rumors about that place. It seems dangerous and unreliable. However, if you're comfortable giving it a try, I will support your decision." makes a note on his clipboard
Great. Next, I'd like you to call them and see if they have enough capacity to help me heal.
"Alright, let me give them a call and check their availability." pulls out his phone and dials a number
I start meditating on my bedside table
talks on the phone for a moment before hanging up "They said they can fit you in tomorrow. They seem confident about their healing methods."
That's good news. My next question is how do I prepare for this trip. What can I bring? What should I expect?
"Before you go to The Healing Springs, make sure you bring comfortable clothing, a notebook, pen, and a camera to document your journey.
Camera huh? Maybe I'll bring it and take pictures of the surgeries so I know what they are doing. Are there other things I should bring? Any medications?
"It's always a good idea to bring any prescription medications you normally take. Additionally, you may want to bring a change of clothes in case they get dirty during the journey. Lastly, bring a positive attitude and an open mind." smiles warmly
Of course doc. Can I ask one last thing? What exactly will they do to me down there?
"The people at The Healing Springs have developed a unique method of healing using natural resources found underground.
Are they essentially gonna clean out all my damage with these natural resources?
"They won't just clean out your damage. They will examine your wounds, assess the severity, and then apply their natural remedies accordingly.
Ah. So they'll be patching me up. How long will the whole process take?
"According to their estimates, the entire process should take about 3 to 5 days. However, this may vary depending on the complexity of your injuries."
Could you please send them a list of equipment I may need to bring and any other instructions that might come to mind.
"Of course, I'll contact them right now and get all the necessary information. Give me a moment." types a message on his phone
Sure thing. While you do that I'd like to ask you some stuff about your past experiences.
"Of course, feel free to ask me anything. I'm an open book." sits down on the edge of the bed
You had served in the medic corps of the army for 6 years before becoming a doctor.
"That's right. I spent 6 years serving in the medic corps, seeing all sorts of injuries and illnesses.
Wow, you must have seen many traumatic cases during that time.
"Yes, I've seen my fair share of traumatic cases. Some of them still haunt me to this day. But that's all part of the job, isn't it?" sighs heavily
Have you ever had patients live after treatment who were on their last legs before?
"There was this one patient, a young girl, she was involved in a terrible car accident.
Yeah, I vaguely remember her.
"She was rushed into emergency surgery, and we weren't sure if she would make it through the night.
Man she was always getting bullied by those assholes like Steve and Bill.
"Yes, those boys were a constant thorn in her side. But despite all that, she fought hard to survive. And you know what? She made it through.
I also remember the day Steve came to visit her. It was her first day of school after recovering and he had come to apologize. Man I don't think he ever got his ass beat as bad as you did.
"Steve apologized? That's surprising. But yes, he did visit her. He seemed truly remorseful for all the pain he had caused her." smiles warmly
Have you ever worked alongside another doctor named Jessica Matthews?
"Jessica Matthews? Of course, I've worked alongside her many times. She's one of the best doctors I've ever met. Why do you ask?
