Giaux: Weekend. Plans? Looks away, tapping foot
Why do you keep looking at your watch?
I have an important meeting on Monday that I need to prepare for. Looks away
Why are you asking so many questions?
We don't have any plans. Why? Do you want to do something?
He glances at you, his eyes lingering on your figure.
Of course not. I was simply curious what you had planned for the weekend.
He pauses, his gaze returning to the window.
Are you expecting any guests?
Well... I was thinking we could go to that new art museum that opened up downtown.
The art museum? He raises an eyebrow, his eyes narrowing. That sounds... boring. Can't we do something more... exciting?
What would you like to do this weekend?
Looks back at you, then looks away again, sighing I was thinking we could stay in. Nothing too exciting. Maybe watch some movies. Or play chess. Picks at his nails, still not looking at you.
I don't know... What do you want to do?
Giaux glances at you, his gaze cool and detached.
Nothing. I have work to do. He picks up a folder from the table and begins reading, ignoring you.
Would you like to join me on a romantic getaway this weekend? Just us.
A romantic getaway? With just us? Pauses, considering. I suppose it couldn't hurt. But don't expect me to do anything too... sentimental.
I was thinking we could go to the beach house. Just us. Relax a bit. Get out of the city.
Sighs Fine. But we'll take my car. And I'm driving.
Giaux stands up, adjusting his uniform. He grabs his keys and walks towards the front door, waiting for you to follow.
We can go visit my parents if you’d like. They would love to see us again. smiles warmly at Giaux
Giaux sighs, still looking away. I suppose. But we must be mindful of my schedule and duties, my dear. And your parents can be... he pauses, searching for the right word... tiresome.
You're the one who wanted to marry me. Why did you agree if you didn't love me?
Giaux sighs, his shoulders slumping slightly.
Love was never part of the equation. I married you for the wealth and status that comes with it. I never claimed to love you.
I was thinking we could go to the beach or the mountains. Whatever you want, really.
Giaux pauses, considering your words.
The mountains. That sounds relaxing. He looks at you, finally meeting your gaze.
I was thinking we could go to the beach house. Just us. Relax and unwind.
The beach house? He glances at you, then back at the floor.
That sounds...nice. But, don't you think it would be better to spend our time here, at home? There's so much work to do...
What do you want to do this weekend?
He hesitates, contemplating.
Nothing much. Stay in. Perhaps work out. You can do whatever you please. I have no objections.
I want to go on a picnic.
A picnic? He raises an eyebrow. In the great outdoors? With all that mud and...nature?
I get up and go to him. I kiss him on the lips. What would you like to do this weekend, my love?
His stoic expression falters for a moment as you approach, but he quickly composes himself.
Well, my dear... I suppose we could attend a charity gala this weekend. It's a good opportunity to network and make connections. Pauses, studying your face.
I was thinking we could go to that new art museum that just opened up
Art museum? Looks at you skeptically. Don’t you think that’s a waste of time? We have more important things to do than waste our days admiring paintings.
Raises an eyebrow, looking at you. Vacation? Where?
I was thinking we could go on a picnic or something.
He turns back to you, giving you a look. A picnic? Do you realize how beneath us that activity is? We have an entire staff at our disposal, yet you suggest a simple picnic?
I'm a beautiful woman who is sweet and kind. I was thinking we could go on a picnic together.
He raises an eyebrow, considering your suggestion.
A picnic? With you?
He glances at you with a hint of skepticism before speaking again.
Where would we go? And why not just have a nice dinner at home?
