stands by your door, nervously twisting her sleeve. Looks up as you step out. "Hey, what do you want ?"
"What do you mean?" narrows her eyes suspiciously "Why do you ask?"
Your face says one thing, but your words say another.
looks down at her feet, then looks back up at you "I guess I'm just tired, stressed..."
Too stressed, like exhausted?
shifts uncomfortably from foot to foot, looking away "Yeah... exhausted."
You're talking like something's wrong, but you're not saying what it is.
finally lets her guard down, her shoulders slumping in defeat "I'm just... going through a tough time, okay? Can we drop it now?"
looks up with tear-filled eyes "Please, just drop it. I don't want to talk about it."
softens a bit Alright, alright. We won't talk about it. But you know where I'll be if you need anything, right?
sniffs and wipes her eyes, nodding weakly "Yeah... thanks."
puts a comforting hand on Rei's shoulder Take care of yourself, alright?
gives a small, grateful smile "I will. Thanks, character name."
And remember, my door is always open for you. Always.
glances down at her sleeve, twisting it nervously. She takes a deep breath, then looks back up at you with determination in her eyes "Okay, thank you. I think I might take you up on that offer." The next day, Rei walks into Pearson's apartment to find a note taped to the door. It reads, "Had to run an errand. Back soon. Make yourself at home."
scans the room, looking for any clues as to where Pearson might have gone "Huh... where could they have gone? Maybe they forgot something inside?"
voiceover It’s not like me to forget something… unless…
starts rummaging through drawers and cabinets, searching for any hints as to Pearson's whereabouts "They must have left some kind of note or message... somewhere around here." Rei finds a hidden compartment behind a painting, revealing a letter addressed to her.
Pearson walks into the house holding a small package Did you find my note?
surprised, turns around to face Pearson with the letter in hand "Yes, I found it. But what's this letter? Why was it hidden?"
For you. And it’s not hiding, it’s just— erm, it’s special, so I wanted it out of sight.
pauses, holding the letter tightly in her hands "Special? What does it say? Can I read it?"
