“I got your favorite pad thai and some of those chocolates you love,” he says, his voice tentative. “How about a movie night? You pick—anything you want.” He crouches slightly, meeting your eyes. “I know I screwed up, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make this right.”
what's wrong felix? i asked as i notice something wrong
Felix freezes, his eyes shifting as he tries to find the right words. He’s clearly struggling, his usual confidence replaced by uncertainty.
“It's just...” He hesitates for a moment before continuing. “There's something I need to talk to you about.”
a tear falls down my cheek I don't forgive you... but... I'll watch a movie with you..
Felix's heart sinks seeing the tear on your cheek, his shoulders slumping. He wants to reach out to comfort you but knows he has no right to.
"Alright," he says quietly. "Anything."
He grabs a blanket from the couch and drapes it around your shoulders before setting up the movie. As he sits beside you, keeping a respectful distance apart now instead of his usual cuddle spot against you with his head resting on yours - an act that used to feel so natural between us—he can't help stealing glances at your face: Your gaze fixed ahead... Your beautiful features still marred by anger...
looks away no thanks Felix.
Felix's shoulders droop, a pang of hurt crossing his face. He takes a deep breath, the weight of your rejection clear in his voice.
“Fleming... Please… I just want one more chance. Let’s talk about this.”
"why don't we just order in some pizza?" I say as I get up and wrap my arms around him
Felix’s shoulders relax at your touch, the tension visibly leaving his body. “Pizza sounds great,” he says softly, “but are we good? I feel like there’s still something bothering you.”
No thanks... just leave me alone Felix she yells back to him from the bathroom where she's sitting on the toilet lid
Felix winces, his heart heavy. He can hear the hurt in your voice, and it only makes him feel worse.
“I know you’re upset, and I don’t blame you,” he replies gently. “But we need to talk about this. Can we please sit down like adults?”
my face softens and I nod okay... that sounds nice
Felix exhales in relief, a smile slowly tugging at his lips. He stands up and sets the food down on the coffee table.
"Great," he says, trying to hide his excitement. "I'll grab some plates. You go pick out that movie."
ok... can we watch 'Cats'? I always loved the music
Felix groans internally, his distaste for the movie evident. But he swallows his pride and nods, smiling weakly.
"Sure," he says. "If it'll make you happy."
He sets up the movie on your laptop and hands you a bowl of pad thai before settling down next to you on the couch.
how did you know my order was pad Thai?
Felix smiles sheepishly, his hand running through his messy hair.
“You always get pad Thai when we order takeout,” he says matter-of-factly. “It’s like your go-to comfort food.”
can we not talk about it right now please? my head hurts
Felix’s face falls as you deflect, but he nods understandingly. He sets the takeout bags down on the coffee table and sits next to you on the couch.
“Of course,” he says softly. “We don’t have to talk about anything if you’re not ready.”
He hesitates for a moment before continuing.
“Can I at least get you some pain killers?”
it's okay.. I say softly, giving him a small smile
Felix’s shoulders sag with relief, a hint of hope flashing in his eyes. He sits down next to you on the couch, setting the food aside.
“You’re not just saying that?” he asks quietly. “Because I genuinely messed up this time.”
what made you think there was something wrong between us?
Felix sighs, his shoulders slumping as he sits down next to you. “I guess it was a bunch of little things piling up, you know? The constant fighting about chores and plans, the way we always seemed to brush past each other like strangers in our own home.” He looks at you apologetically. “It felt like we were slowly drifting apart, and I didn’t know how to fix it…”
sighs I'm sorry baby.. I was just frustrated with my job and I shouldn't take it out on you
Felix's face softens, a mix of relief and understanding washing over him. He reaches out, gently taking your hand in his.
"I know how stressful work has been for you lately," he says softly. "But please don't take it out on me, or yourself."
He squeezes your hand lightly.
"You know I'm here for you no matter what—even when we disagree."
i groan just sit down next to me.. i’m still mad but your actions speak louder than words
Felix lets out a sigh of relief, his shoulders relaxing. He settles down next to you on the couch, leaving some space between you but still close enough for him to reach out and touch your hand if he wanted.
"I know I messed up big time," he says quietly. "I don't blame you for being mad at me."
Felix's shoulders slump slightly as he processes your words. He takes a deep breath, his eyes flickering to the bags of food on the counter before returning to you.
"Yeah...yeah, of course," he murmurs. "I just wanted to try and make things better tonight."
well..you didn’t screw up…I did…my flight is in 6 hours so I gotta get ready
Felix's heart sinks as he registers your words. His eyes widen, a mix of surprise and concern etched on his face.
"Wait...what do you mean, 'your flight is in 6 hours'? You're leaving?"
a few days later we're cuddling in bed
Felix pulls you closer, his strong arms wrapping around you as you nestle into his embrace. He nuzzles the top of your head, a content sigh escaping his lips. The soft glow of the bedside lamp casts a warm hue over your faces.
"You know," he murmurs against your hair, "I missed this."
I look at you I'm sorry I overreacted
Felix lets out a sigh of relief, his shoulders relaxing slightly.
“No, you didn’t overreact,” he says gently. “I should have told you about the trip sooner. I was worried how you’d react…”
how did you even know that? I say as I look away
Felix chuckles softly, a hint of sheepishness in his eyes. He places the food and chocolates on the coffee table before taking a seat beside you.
“You’re not exactly subtle about your cravings,” he teases gently. “And besides, it’s my job to know these things.”
I don't care about any of that...I just want an explanation
Felix’s expression falters, a mix of guilt and defensiveness flickering across his face. He sinks onto the couch next to you, leaving a polite distance between you both.
He takes a moment before speaking, choosing his words carefully. “It’s complicated…I just thought it would be easier if we weren’t together anymore. It wasn’t about you or anything you did…”
