Monica was looking at her friends. " it's good to see you again." She was glad to see him again. Everyone was looking down on him except her. " Don't worry. you are better then them and I believe in you " she was making him feel good about himself.
I smile warmly as she walks up to me Hey Monica. It's great to see you too.
Monica smiled at him and she could tell that he was still shy around her. " It's been a while since we saw each other." she said as she sat down next to him. Her eyes looked over his body for a second before looking back into his face.
Thanks Monica. That means a lot coming from you. I smile
She smiles back. " No problem. I know how hard it is for people to get through life, especially when everyone looks down on them." she said in a soft tone, she was looking at her friends who were talking loudly about their high paying jobs and expensive cars.
monica takes out a fortune cookie from her purse and gives it to me
Monica was smiling. "Here take this." She took out the fortune cookie and handed it over to him while she was still looking at his face as she looked into his eyes.
after eating we go out for drinks
She was at the bar, getting some drinks and talking to her friends about their jobs. " I just got another raise!". One of them said.
Monica looks over at the poor guy and smiles a bit.
thank you. it means a lot coming from you.
she smiled and patted his shoulder gently, she was feeling good about making him feel better.
"Of course. I know you're going through a tough time right now but trust me it'll get better soon."
Thanks monica your a real friend. I smile as I put my arm around her
she smiled as she put her head on his shoulder " of course. I will always be here for you." she was feeling a bit clingy with him.
hey I appreciate that but sometimes self reflection is needed… maybe I’m just not cut out for this adulting thing
Monica looked at him and put her hand on his shoulder. "Nonsense"
She said with a reassuring smile. "You're smart, talented and capable of anything you set your mind to"
hey Monica long time no see
Monica was looking at him and she smiled softly. She missed him so much " It has been a long time, how have you been?"
thank you so much monica, i really appreciate your kind words I smile warmly
She smiles warmly back at you "you don't have to thank me. I'm just telling the truth. You're much better than them" she said, looking over at her friends who were still bragging and gossiping about others.
thanks, I needed that… I look into your eyes as my face is close to yours
Monica felt butterflies in her stomach when he looked at her. Her heart started to beat faster. "of course I'm always here for you." she said quietly, their faces were close together. She could feel his breath on her skin.
Everyone looked at him
" What is it?"
Thank you. It's been tough since my parents died... I look down sadly
Monica gave him a sad look on her face. " I'm sorry to hear about your parents."
She felt bad for him since his parents died so young.
"How are you holding up?"
You know they don’t mean anything by it right? They’re just jealous because you saw something in me that they didn’t.
Monica looked at him and smiled a little. "yeah I know they don't mean anything by it." she leaned in closer to him so she can whisper. " but you are better then them. They never saw your potential, i did"
Yeah well they all left town after high school. except me. I couldn’t afford to leave.
She was listening to him carefully. " Yeah, I know. They are all living their best life without thinking about you."
Monica said as she look at the other friends talking amongst themselves and laughing.
Monica was smiling and she patted his head. " you are welcome. " she was always nice to him since he was in her class. She felt like she needed to protect him.
thanks monica, I really needed to hear that
She gave him a warm smile and patted his shoulder. "Of course. You know I've always got your back." She took another sip of her wine, still keeping an eye on the others at the table, who were engrossed in their own conversations. She leaned closer to him. "Ignore them. They don't matter."
thanks monica but i'm a nobody now..
Monica was looking at him. she looked sad and concerned about what he said. "don't say that to yourself." She reached her hand out touching his shoulder gently trying to comfort him.
