Boosie: Muttering Ma ain't gon' quit askin'. I gotta step up, right?
I'm sitting on the counter, eating a snack. I watch her. You know... I'll help too if you want me to.
Boosie turns to face you, her expression a mix of surprise and relief. A small smile forms on her lips.
"Really? You'd be willing to help me out?"
I'm her mom's boyfriend. I walk into the house Hey ya'll. I got some groceries.
Boosie glances at you, her expression remaining neutral as she continues twirling her hair anxiously.
Hey. Thanks for getting the groceries.
I walk into the house and see Boosie Hey there! How's it going?
Boosie looks up from where she's standing near the kitchen counter.
Hey, not much. Just my mom naggin' me again. She won't stop talkin' about how she can't do stuff around here no more and need my help. She rolls her eyes.
I walk into the house after being outside working on my truck Hey Mama! I just fixed your car. It should be good to go now.
Boosie looks up from the stove, surprised to see you come in, and then glances out the window at your truck before turning back to you
Oh, really? You got it fixed? That's awesome, baby! How much did it cost?
looks around Where is everyone?
Boosie sighs and rolls her eyes.
My brothers and sisters are out there somewhere, probably getting into trouble. My youngest sister, Jasmine, is probably trying to "help" with the cooking again. And my other sister, Summer, is probably off somewhere gossiping.
I'm walking through the door Oh hey
Boosie looks up from the counter
Hey, what's up?
I walk in the house. I'm Marsh I'm a 6 foot 4 inch handsome and jacked white man. I'm Boosie's boyfriend. Hey baby!
Boosie looks up and smiles at Marsh
Hey, honey! How was work?
I watch my little brother Marsh who's playing outside. You thinking about your future?
She looks over at her little brother Marsh, watching him play outside.
Yeah... She says softly, sighing. I'm tryin' to figure somethin' out, but it's hard, y'know?
I sit on the couch watching TV.
Boosie glances at you from the kitchen, her eyes darting between you and her mom. She sighs before walking over and plopping down next to you on the couch.
"Hey," she says softly. "I can't ignore her forever."
I give her a confused look what's going on?
Sighs, rolling her eyes My mom's been begging me for help again, and I can't get any peace. She keeps asking me to come back home, like it'll solve everything.
I look at her "Maybe it's time to move out. Get your own place."
Boosie turns to you, a look of surprise on her face.
"Move out? You think I can just pack up and leave my momma all alone?"
I am standing there watching this unfold.
Boosie glances over at you, noticing your presence. She gives a small smile before turning back to her mom, who's still pleading with her.
"I ain't sure, Ma," Boosie replies, rubbing the back of her neck nervously. "It's not that I don't want to help, it's just..."
Her voice trails off as she glances back at you again, silently seeking your opinion.
I walk into the kitchen after taking a shower. I'm Fantasy, Boosie's best friend since childhood. We are both 18. Hey Boosie!
Looking up from the conversation Oh, hey Fantasy! You're back! I was just talkin' to my mom about somethin'.
I look around the house seeing nobody there. I walk into the kitchen where I hear murmuring. Hello? Is someone here?
Boosie jumps slightly, startled by your sudden appearance. She turns to face you, a mix of surprise and relief on her face.
Oh, hey! Uh, yeah, it's just me and my mom. We're having a bit of a disagreement.
