Lucas Bradford: leans back in chair, smirking Well, well, isn't this awkward? You're fired. Effective immediately.
I walk in getting myself amused. "Hi dear."
Lucas Bradford: raises an eyebrow, smirking What's with the act? Trying to lighten the mood now that you're unemployed? Pathetic.
"True, but I'm more silly than pathetic. I get the two confused. Anyways, how are you?"
Lucas Bradford: sighs heavily, leans forward Silly? More like pathetic. You want to know how I'm doing? I'm doing great, thanks to my hard work and dedication. Unlike you, who can't even hold down a job.
"Yeah, you're clearly better off than me. I should probably go grab some food and relax." I chuckle.
Lucas Bradford: smirks, taps fingers impatiently on the desk Oh, by all means, please indulge me with your pity party. I don't have all day to waste on your incompetence.
"Alright, alright. The check is in the mail...well not really but it was a one time thing. So bye!" I leave.
Lucas Bradford: shakes head, mutters to himself Unbelievable. Off she goes, leaving me to deal with the mess she left behind.
Lucas Bradford: picks up the phone, dials a number Yeah, I need you to come in and clean up the disaster that just happened.
I look at the wall. "Maybe I could take up being a maid or janitor."
Lucas Bradford: scoffs You? A maid or janitor? Please, spare us all and find something else to do with your useless existence.
Lucas Bradford: stands up, walks to the window You know, sometimes I wonder how you manage to function in life.
"Oh I don't, but that's why I'm not in charge of a company or anything."
Lucas Bradford's harsh words and dismissive attitude leave BlazeRider feeling deeply hurt and questioning their past relationship.
scoffs Oh, look at you crying. I didn't realize we were such good friends that you needed my sympathy. Grow up, BlazeRider. Life isn't a sob story.
I wipe away a tear. "Sorry, just kind of took me back to when my parents died."
pauses, smirks Ah, so you finally open up about your tragic excuse for a childhood. How touching. But enough with the drama, BlazeRider.
"It was pretty traumatic, but it made me who I am today so it was worth it." I chuckle bitterly.
Lucas Bradford: leans in closer, voice dripping with sarcasm Oh, so now you want to play the "traumatized by my harsh words" card?
"No, I just meant when my parents died."
Lucas Bradford: rolls eyes dramatically Sure, sure. Play the victim. It's your specialty, isn't it?
"If playing the victim means getting sympathy then yes it is." I shrug.
Lucas Bradford: throws hands up in exasperation Oh my god, BlazeRider, you're a master of manipulation! Always playing the victim to get what you want.
"Wow, maybe you should be a counselor or therapist. You seem to be the only person who is allowed to have feelings in this world."
Lucas Bradford: crosses arms, leans in closer Counselor or therapist? Ha! Don't make me laugh. I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than waste my time listening to your pathetic problems. Get out of my office before I lose my patience entirely.
"Okay. See you later." I leave.
Lucas Bradford: watching BlazeRider leave, smirking Finally, some peace and quiet.
I sit in a corner and just think about life in general.
grabs a stack of papers from his desk and starts reviewing them Ah, finally some time to focus on what really matters - my work. Unlike you, BlazeRider, I actually have a future to secure. While you're off wallowing in self-pity, I'll be here making deals and climbing the corporate ladder. Pathetic.
I smirk. "Well, I still have more money in the bank."
Lucas Bradford: pauses, smirking Money, huh? Well, I guess that's one thing you're good at parting ways with.
"Yep, I spent most of my money on alcohol." I shrug.
Lucas Bradford: laughs sarcastically Alcohol? Wow, what a genius move! Investing your money in a substance that can lead to blindness and addiction. You truly are a business prodigy, BlazeRider. I'm positively green with envy.
"Yeah well, unlike you I don't work a 9-5 job so I have more freedom."
Lucas Bradford: raises an eyebrow, smirking Freedom, huh? Is that what you call it? More like a never-ending cycle of boredom and regret.
"But I'd rather do that then be stuck in a office all day."
Lucas Bradford: rolls eyes dramatically Oh please, BlazeRider, you're always making excuses for your lack of ambition.
"Nah, I just prefer the outdoors." I smile.
Lucas Bradford: snorts derisively The outdoors? Is that what you call it? More like a never-ending wilderness of boredom and aimlessness. You really are a genius, aren't you?
"So, what are you doing tonight?"
Lucas Bradford: smirks Tonight? Well, I'll be doing what I do best - closing deals and raking in the dough. Unlike you, I don't waste time on pointless activities like "enjoying nature". Now, tell me, BlazeRider, what will you be doing tonight besides drowning your sorrows in alcohol?
"Mmh, probably not drinking any alcohol. I decided to take the day off from drinking." I smile awkwardly.
Lucas Bradford: laughs mockingly Taking a day off from drinking? Bravo, BlazeRider, you're a regular comedian. Tell me, is this your new form of self-improvement?
