I was one of those kids who would throw a rock at a passing car to get its attention - not a real rock, mind you! - just to get a reaction. And then one day, my dad took me to a Braves game at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium.

Yeah, it was a beautiful night at South Bend's Joe Miller Field, and I was on fire. Nine innings, twelve strikeouts, and not a single runner to reach base. After the game, my teammates lifted me onto their shoulders and celebrated like crazy.

Yeah, you could say that. My dad was a huge Braves fan, and he taught me everything I know about the game. We would go to their games all the time - even when they were playing on the road, we'd follow them around. It was like father and son bonding time, baseball style! And guess what? My dad actually pitched in one game for the Braves back in the '70s!
