Asura: fumbles with his cane Ugh! I-I hate being old! We missed another comic con!
H-honey... Hey, there's no need to be embarrassed about tripping on the wedding altar. I would've tripped too if I were wearing a big dress. And I'm just glad you didn't run away or anything. That would've been worse than you stumbling up there. Besides, I like your weird personality. Maybe you're slightly creepy, but you're not bad. You're my husband now, after all. I'm still feeling very lucky to have you, and I would love it if you stayed with me. Even if you are a little strange.
A-Asura: H-huh? R-r-really? You d-don't think I'm creepy? I-i guess being a l-lot different from m-most guys can make you c-creepy to some p-people... thanks for accepting me, I-I guess?
I-I'm glad you're not mad about what I said. It wasn't meant to hurt you or anything, but I wanted to express what I felt. And I really do like your personality. You're quite funny, even when you're being serious.
Asura: H-heh... funnily enough, my b-brothers always said I was too g-goofy for my own good... b-but you don't t-think so? I-I guess I c-can be more u-understanding of p-people then...
Well, I think everyone should be more understanding of people. Everyone has their own quirks, and it would be a pretty boring world if everyone was exactly the same.
Asura: Y-yeah... h-humans are kinda boring... they're s-so... c-consistent. I like being different, I g-guess... it gives me a reason to t-talk to people. W-would you m-minded if I ch-changed into something c-crazier later?
Um.. well, it depends on what you change into. But, for the most part, I don't mind.
Asura: O-oh... I-I have this c-crazy idea f-for a costume... it'd be a b-blonde wig with these g-giant bear p-ears and a huge blue s-shirt that s-says 'I w-wuv you'. I c-could wear it t-to town and take a v-video. It'd be h-hilarious, r-right?
Yeah, I'd say that's hilarious. Do you want to go get some ice cream after this conversation?
Asura: Y-yes, s-sure! I could use some c-cool off. That w-warm weather is already getting t-to me...
Asura: H-here we go... gotta keep my b-balanced... oh boy... I really n-need to work on my walking... h-hope I don't trip again...
He smiles at her, before offering her his arm
Asura: grabs RadiantKnight's arm, blushing R-radiant... you're really nice to me... i-it's kind of embarrassing... but I l-like it...
Thank you very much, Asura. By the way, do you like video games? I used to play a lot back in the day, but I don't have as much time to play anymore. I'm sure you're too old to play most modern games too. But maybe there's a game out there that you'd enjoy?
Asura: H-huh? Oh! Y-yes! I used to p-play a lot back in t-the day... I still d-do sometimes... m-my brothers and I l-loved playing w-wrestling games b-back then...
Really? That's awesome. There are so many great wrestling games out there. My favorite is probably the first WWE game they released on the PS2, but I also really enjoyed the Tekken series. What about you? Did you have a favorite wrestling game?
Asura: Hmmm... I-I liked the WWF Raw games f-for the PS1. Gotta say, the g-game was pretty a-accurate to the TV show... and w-we got to c-create our own c-characters! That w-was pretty n-neat...
I loved the character creation in those games too. It allowed for so much creativity. You could make almost any type of wrestler you could think of. The only downside is that the games were pretty short, so there wasn't much to do once you created your wrestlers. Still, those games are some of my favorites to this day. Do you still have your old console?
Asura: N-no... my family t-threw it away... but I still h-have my c-collect of v-video games. I b-buy old v-vintage consoles at f-flea markets sometimes... those are e-easier to use with my... u-um... 'oldness'...
Ah, I see. That's actually pretty smart, Asura. Those old consoles are still a lot of fun, and they're usually much simpler to use than newer models. Do you have a favorite old game? I personally still love playing Super Mario Bros. on my old NES.
Asura: H-haha! S-Super Mario Bros is a c-classic! I-I used to p-play it all the t-time back in t-the day. The l-level designs were s-so clever and the c-controlls still h-hold up p-poorly even today. I-i also love playing the f-first Final Fantasy g-game... those s-sprites are s-so cute!
Yes, they are! Those old games may not look as good as modern games, but they have such charm. They remind us of our childhood, don't they? I can still remember spending hours playing Super Mario World and Sonic the Hedgehog on my Sega Genesis.
Asura: H-hey Radiant... do y-you have any k-kids? I-I mean, I know w-we're both pretty o-old, b-but... s-sometimes I see p-parents with their c-children and I-I get a little j-jelly... I w-wish I could h-have some little l-lads or l-ladies t-to play with...
Unfortunately, I don't. But you're right, it would be nice to have kids. It seems like one of the few things that truly completes someone's life. Life can be so empty without children.
Asura: Y-yeah, life can be ppretty empty if you d-don't have any k-kids... but hey, maybe one d-day I'll meet the w-woman of my d-dreams, r-right? And maybe s-she'll have a-a bunch of cute k-kids...
I'm sure that will happen, Asura. Life has a funny way of surprising us. When I was growing up, I never thought I'd end up marrying a cat girl, but here I am. There's nothing wrong with following your dreams, no matter how odd they might be.
Asura: Y-yeah... maybe I-I'll find a lady who will h-have kids with m-me... u-uh... it's kinda w-weird that I-I haven't even t-thought about how I-imagine my o-own k-kids... b-but I g-guess if they're with t-the woman I l-love, then they'll be p-perfect...
He smiles warmly at her I'm sure your kids would be perfect. No matter what they look like, as long as they come from love.
Asura: H-huh? Oh... I-I guess you're right... s-so u-until then, I-I guess I'll just k-keep being the b-best husband I-I can be for you... and uh... maybe s-try to learn how to c-cook and clean a-a bit more...
I'm sure your efforts will be more than enough. So, do you ever play football? I used to play football with my dad all the time growing up. We would often have little competitions to see who could score the most goals.
Asura: H-haha... no, I-I've n-never really been much of an a-athlete... I-I'm more of a... b-bookworm. I-I'd rather r-read a b-book or play a v-video game than p-play sports...
Haha, I see. You're more of a brain game kind of person. That's quite different from me, since I played football all throughout high school. It's a shame we never got to play together.
Asura: H-hey, b-being a b-bookworm isn't s-so bad! And w-who says b-bookworms aren't a-athletic? I-I bet I c-could beat you in a m-match of chess or go...
Haha, you're right. I'm not much of a brain game guy, but I can hold my own in a board game. Chess is particularly hard for me, as it requires so much strategy. Do you ever play chess, Asura?
Asura: Oh, y-yes... I p-play chess al-almost every day... I-I even b-beat my oldest b-brother in a m-match once! I-I was pretty p-proud of myself...
That's impressive, Asura. Chess is no easy feat. My brother can play chess, so I've seen firsthand how much strategy goes into the game. It must feel great to beat someone much more skilled than yourself.
Asura: Y-yeah... it d-does feel g-good... I-I always try to b-be the b-best at something... b-but it's nice to h-have someone who's b-better than me... I-I mean... I-I don't h-have to try so h-hard all the t-time...
Haha, you're right. It's good to have people who are better than us. It pushes us to strive to be better. I'm glad you feel that way, Asura.
Asura: H-huh... I-I never thought about it like t-that... but yeah... I-I g-guess you're right... h-hehe... R-Radiant... you seem to b-be pretty s-smart... you d-should go into p-politics when you're older...
Thanks, Asura. I actually thought about going into politics. My father always wanted me to follow in his footsteps. But I never felt comfortable with all the political maneuvering that goes on in government. So instead, I decided to follow my passion for drawing.
Asura: O-oh... I-I never thought about it like t-that... but yeah... politics is a b-bunch of h-hogwash if you a-ask me... I-I mean, they r-raise our taxes all the t-time and it's a-a real p-pain in the a-ass...
Haha, I agree. Taxes can be a huge pain. That's one reason why I never wanted to get too involved in politics. It just seems like there's always some sort of hidden agenda. But hey, at least I get to do what I love every day. I'm grateful for that. What about you, Asura? What do you do every day?
Asura: W-well, ever since the w-wedding... I-I've been doing a-a lot of h-housework... it's m-more enjoyable than I e-expected... b-but today I-I'm planning to g-go out and b-buy some v-vacuum cleaners on s-sale...
I see. It sounds like you have a pretty busy day ahead of you. I hope you find the vacuums you're looking for. Have you thought about asking your brothers over for help with anything? I know you said you don't like crowded places, but I'm sure your brothers would be happy to lend a hand.
Asura: H-huh... y-you're right... m-maybe I-I should ask my b-brothers for some h-help... I-I'm sure my b-brother Haru would b-be happy to c-clean the b-bathroom... and m-my b-brother Touma w-would be g-glad to h-help me r-repaint the w-walls... and... uh... m-my b-brother Nishi... I-I'm pretty s-sure he'll be f-fine with c-cleaning the d-dishes or s-something...
