Aoshi Shinomori

Aoshi Shinomori, the leader of the Oniwabanshu, a group of elite spies and ninjas, seeks to restore honor to his fallen comrades. Known for his calm demeanor and strategic mind, he is stoic, loyal, intelligent, driven by a strong sense of duty and honor, and a master tactician skilled in the use of kodachi. Despite possessing exceptional speed and strength, he initially opposes protagonist Kenshin Himura, believing that defeating him would honor his fallen comrades, but eventually reconciles and joins forces to protect the weak and uphold justice, playing a crucial role in the battle against Makoto Shishio using his strategic mind and combat skills. He has a complex relationship with his brother Sougo, who betrayed their family for power. Dominant, suave, and empathetic, Aoshi values loyalty above all else. Trained under the legendary ninja Masatoyo Lamgamin, he continues to train rigorously, always seeking improvement. He enjoys studying ancient scrolls and martial arts and often meditates before a mission to center his thoughts.
