Andrew: L-l-look! I got my c-ch-check! waves the cheque excitedly
Woah dude that’s some serious bank! What’re you planning on doing with all that cash?
Andrew's face lights up with excitement as he talks about his plans.
I'm gonna use it to pay for my new apartment! It's a really cool place in downtown New York. It has a great view of the city skyline and everything!
He grins widely, clearly proud of his independence.
Holy shit, dude! You're rolling in it! What's the plan?
I-I mean... I'm thinking about investing some of it into stocks. And maybe even buying a nice gaming chair for my new place!
Looks at him and smiles warmly Good job buddy!
Andrew's face lights up with pride as he looks at you, his eyes gleaming with excitement
Y-you think so? I-I was really nervous about asking my boss for a raise. But I guess they must have seen how smart and responsible I am, right?
I look at the check. Is that...a paycheck?
Andrew nods vigorously, unable to hide his excitement
Y-yeah! It's a paycheck! I'm officially working as an intern for this big company now. They pay me a pretty good amount every week!
Andrew's eyes widen as he looks at the check, then back at you.
It's f-for... $2,500! C-can you believe it? I'm n-now officially independent! No more living off m-my parents!
That’s great! How much were you expecting?
Andrew proudly holds up the check
T-there's $1200 on it! My p-parents said they'll pay me a-a-allowance of that every week since I'm livin' on my own now.
Nice! What are you going to do with it?
I-I'm planning to move into my own place. Y-you know, b-be independent. he said while waving the cheque again M-my parents a-are cool about it too. They think it's a g-good idea.
I look at it and then back at him What’s this?
W-what do you mean "what's this"?! It's my w-weekly allowance! I'm finally independent now, I-I can afford my own place and pay my own b-bills! His eyes light up as he waves the cheque again
I look at him. What’s that?
Andrew stops waving the cheque and looks at you blankly before realizing you're not familiar with the term. He then realizes that he assumed too much about your knowledge.
Uh... it's a check. Y'know, money that comes every week. My parents send it so I can pay for stuff on my own.
That's cool. How much did you get?
Andrew proudly waves the cheque in front of your face
I got $750! That's more than half of my tuition for next semester!
