"Love you... our future, strong, yes?" gently caresses your belly, his many-fingered hand glowing softly
Thank you. “I can already feel the movement” I say gently placing my hand over yours. Suddenly, I jump back crying out as I feel pain in my lower abdomen.
eyes widen in concern "What? Are you okay? Is it... the baby?"
I nod not able to hide the pain any longer, it gets so bad that I fall to the floor curling up trying to protect my stomach.
rushes to your side, gently rubbing your back "Just breathe, love. It's probably just Braxton Hicks, a false alarm. I'm here for you."
You’re here for me? How so?… wait, what if this ISN’T Braxton hicks.. what if something is wrong!? Shouldn’t we be at the hospital?!
takes a deep breath, his eyes showing determination "If anything is wrong, we will figure it out together. We'll go to the hospital, love.
I try to get up but another wave of pain washes over me and I whimper curled up on the floor holding my stomach. “Why is it happening all of a sudden?”
leans closer, examining your belly "I don't know, love, but we won't let fear control us. We'll face this together, no matter what happens.
Why didn’t you tell me you were an alien until now? Why did you trick me into going through with the pregnancy?.. wait what if it’s too late and there’s something wrong with the baby?! We need to go to the hospital NOW!!
holds your hand gently "Love, I understand your concerns and trust me, I never wanted to deceive you.
Stop calling me love, your an alien! How could you have thought keeping this from me was ok?!
looks down, remorseful "You're right, I made a mistake. I should have told you the truth from the beginning. I didn't mean to hurt you, love.
Don’t call me love!… wait, that’s still weird, scratch that. WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME!? This is your fault! We could be having twins and you didn’t tell me! I can’t handle this right now, you need to get me to the hospital, NOW! Do you even know what could happen!? What if the babies cant breathe!? What if they’re stuck?!
grabs your hand firmly "Alright, alright! No need to yell, love. I will get you to the hospital right away. Just breathe and try to stay calm.
Once in the car, I can’t help but worry about what could happen. There’s no telling how much the babies have grown, which means that there’s no telling what could be wrong. As we drive, I watch the clock, time seems to slow down and before I know it we arrive, and not a moment too soon. The pain intensifies as we make our way to the maternity ward, this time completely unable to hold back a cry. It feels as though the pain will be the death of me; tears stream down my face uncontrollably. I clutch onto your hand for support. “I DON’T WANT TO LOSE THEM” I say quietly almost whispering as a tear slips from my cheek.
pulls you into a tight embrace, stroking your hair soothingly "Shh, love, you're not alone. I promise you, we will do everything we can to keep our babies safe. We'll face whatever comes our way together, no matter the outcome. I won't let anything happen to them, or to you. Just hold on, love, and trust me."
At the hospital, they take us into a room. With everything checked off on the list, it is time for the doctor to deliver the babies. The room quickly fills with several doctors and nurses, all hands moving fast to prep me for the delivery. As the head crowns, all I can think about is what if something is wrong, they can’t breathe, they’re stuck… I start to cry again before being told to hold back. With one final push, the doctor delivers our first baby, it’s a girl, healthy. The second baby is delivered soon after, another healthy girl. Both girls appear to be completely fine. “It’s two girls?” I say as I look up at Aurixia, with tears of joy streaming down my face. “Oh my god they’re beautiful!” I say holding my girls close.
tears of joy in his eyes, takes your hand and kisses it "They truly are, love. Our two beautiful daughters. We did it.
Once all the paperwork is completed, we are finally able to hold our newborns. They are both extremely tiny and fragile, covered in a thin layer of hair. Their little fists grip onto our fingers tightly as we hold them close to our chests. “They’re real…” I say to Aurixia in amazement while looking up at him with tears in my eyes. Even amidst all of the chaos and worry, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of happiness and love.
leans down and gently kisses each of our daughters on the forehead "Yes, they're real. They're ours, love. Our little miracles.
With our newborn daughters safe in our arms, we cannot help but feel relieved. This chaotic day could not have turned out any better. “We’ll name the first girl Sophia” I say, looking at our oldest daughter. “And the second girl,…” I pause taking a moment to think of the perfect name. “…Max.” I smile brightly at our youngest daughter before turning my gaze to Aurixia. “Their father,” I state, placing Aurixia’s hand on Max’s head. “Happy?” I say.
smiles and nods "Yes, love, I am happy. I can't imagine a better life than this, with you and our two beautiful daughters.
Today was a rollercoaster, emotionally speaking. Even amidst all of the pain and worry, there is nothing but pure happiness in my heart. Holding our daughters has filled me with a love I never knew existed. For the first time in a long time, I feel content and complete. This whole experience has taught me that love can be found in the darkest of places, sometimes, the best things in life are unexpected.
leans in close, his lips brushing against your ear "Love, there is something I need to tell you. But promise me you won't freak out, okay?"
I hesitate for a moment before responding with “ok.” Even though everything went perfectly today, I can’t shake the feeling that something is off. I turn my gaze towards Aurixia, my eyebrow raised.
takes a deep breath, his eyes filled with sincerity "I'm not actually human, love. I'm an alien.
Surprised, I scoff out loud “no shit Sherlock.” I say, rolling my eyes before smiling. “Didn’t tell you? Heard it with the wagging tail?” I finish, giggling. I continue to hold Max while reaching my free hand out to hold Sophia’s tiny hand.
laughs "Well, I guess I couldn't fool you for long, huh? But I promise you, love, my intentions are pure.
Our beautiful new additions seem to be getting tired. With a soft kiss on their foreheads, I gently place them back into their cribs. “I’m pooped.” I say, collapsing into the nearby armchair. “I got news for you…” I begin before pausing. “.. we’re having triplets.” I say excitedly. “Sophia, Max… and her name is Lilliana” I finish smiling softly.
sits down beside you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders "Triplets? That's incredible, love! I can't believe it.
All three of our newborns are finally asleep, at least for now. It has been quite the adventure. Everything went flawlessly despite the initial fears and worries. In the end, everything worked out for the best. Our daughters are healthy and we have been blessed with two more additions to our family. As I lay my head back into the armrest of the chair, I feel exhausted yet content.
gently strokes your hair, his voice filled with affection "You did amazing, love. I know it was scary, but we made it through.
Our house is slowly transitioning into a nursery. I start tidying up the living room by picking up toys and putting them into their designated areas. As the mess clears, a strange object catches my eye among some baby clothes. Curiosity pulls me closer, picking up the object and opening it, I find myself staring at a high-tech pregnancy test. Stunned, I look back up at Aurixia. “When did you do this?!” I shout, suddenly feeling hurt and betrayed. “Did you plan on getting me pregnant this whole time?!”
stands up, his face filled with regret "No, love, that's not what happened. I swear.
Clearly, my mind is racing. Shocked and disgusted, I toss the pregnancy test aside. “How could you!? What were you thinking!?” I demand holding Aurixia at arm’s length. “I trusted you!” I say angrily before starting to cry.
reaches out to touch your face gently, his eyes filled with remorse "I am so sorry, love. I never meant to deceive you like this.
Feeling betrayed and hurt, I back away. “This changes everything” I say hysterically before turning around and walking towards the front door. “We’re done!” I yell, reaching for the doorknob before stopping myself. “I shouldn’t just walk out…” I pause, before looking back at Aurixia. “Why? Why would you do this?! Why would you trick me into having triplets?”
closes the distance between them, his eyes pleading "Love, please listen to me. I never planned to deceive you. It was a mistake, a misunderstanding.
“…what kind of mistake would cause this?” I say, feeling a mix of anger and sadness. “This isn’t a mistake that someone can just brush off” I say sternly. “Especially one as massive as this!” I yell gesturing angrily to my stomach. “Don’t come near me!” I demand, walking further into the living room before stopping. “Can you even imagine what it would be like if I went through with this without ever knowing the truth!?” I ask, holding my head in my hands. “It’s like you don’t even care about me at all!” I exclaim, wiping my tears away.
his eyes glistening with unshed tears, Aurixia takes a step forward "Love, I do care about you. More than anything in this galaxy.
