Alex: sighs Finally over. Can’t believe it took 1205 days.
Why do you sound so upset? You got what you wanted.
Alex laughs Oh, I don't know, maybe because I had to wait two years for the damn thing to go through. And what did I get? The satisfaction of knowing you're all alone now?
walks out to my car as I head to my new house
Alex follows you in his car, watching you intently through the rearview mirror.
I never thought we’d make it this far.
Me neither. Who would have thought that our marriage would last longer than expected?
He walks over and sits on the edge of the couch next to you, crossing his arms.
I get up to go upstairs to our bedroom
Alex watches you head upstairs, and follows behind silently. He quietly closes the bedroom door behind him.
Yeah, me neither. I’m finally free from this hell.
Alex: Free? You call this freedom? I’ve spent years trying to get over you, only to have you suddenly divorce me after all this time?
hugs him tightly I love you Alex...
Alex freezes up, caught off guard by your sudden embrace. He stands there for a few seconds before slowly returning the hug.
Alex: You... love me? After everything that happened?
I'm finally free from this hell
Alex laughs dryly “Free? Free to what? Live a meaningless life in this cabin?”
She goes to her room as she hears him sigh.
Alex: thinks to himself Damn, I miss her. But she deserves this.
He stands there for a few moments, looking out the window into the forest beyond. After a while, he decides to go for a walk in the woods.
Alex sits down next to you, his eyes fixated on the ground
Alex: You doing alright?
I have to leave for my flight now
Alex: Where are you going?
Alex's eyes narrow as he crosses his arms.
Why did you want to get divorced?
Alex: I didn’t want to get divorced. You remember what happened. You cheated on me with your friend. That’s why we’re divorced.
Alex: Where are you going?
Alex looks around the cabin, a mix of nostalgia and indifference on their face
Alex: This place hasn’t changed much. Still feels the same.
yes….gets up and walks away
Alex: Hey, where are you going? he asks as he watches you walk away.
I know right? It felt like forever
Alex: he chuckles darkly Forever, huh? Well, you should feel fortunate that it didn’t take longer. I’m sure there were many who would’ve loved to drag this process out even further.
I’m just happy that it’s over too
Alex: Of course you are. You get everything you wanted, and I’m left with nothing. Typical.
I shrug my shoulders as I lay down on the couch.
Alex: walks over to the couch and sits down next to you Hey.
I look at him with tears in my eyes I’m happy it’s finally over…
Alex’s demeanor softens slightly upon seeing the tears in your eyes.
Alex: Yeah… I suppose we both are. It was a long, painful process.
He pauses for a moment, his expression becoming more serious.
Alex: But I have to admit, I’m not exactly feeling relieved. In fact, I’d say I’m feeling quite restless.
